Which is exactly why I said: "Nobody knows more about the tool than the guys that put it together in the first place!"

Wink

Seems like no-one knows what the **** is going on!!! PE developing the map for Pro-drive ??? I doubt that very much surely Pro-drive has the expertise to do there own maps.

It's not rocket science to overwrite code on few chips on a circuit board. And I thought ECUTEK was started by Stephen Done, with the help of PE ??

STi7 PPP is a complete rip-off, nothing more than a crude boost clamp.
Does it do the business, or does it not?? If so, it isn't a rip-off especially if the STi8PPP or "Mk 2 STi7PPP" provides, as I believe is the case, effectively identical figures/performance boost for identical money(tho', of course, its possible both are (equally)overpriced). And mine, quite frankly does do the business. Above all, it does what it said on the tin, for the price I was prepared to pay to preserve my warranty, a feature which in itself adds to the development cost.

Does anyone have evidence that the ECUTEK/PPP provides greater benefit than a piggy-back one (apart from being a more 'elegant' solution)?? Simon???

Phil

If I was a STI7 PPP owner (with non-EcuTeK solution) then I would be extremely disapointed and would be campaigning for FOC upgrade to EcuTeK version like STi8 and latter STi7 PPP.

If you know anything about EcuTeK solution vs. original STi7 PPP solution then you not even question the relative difference between the two because there is absolutely no comparison.

Recent PPP is much better, but still relatively conservative vs. full (safe) potential. If you like peak figures then fine, but as we all know it is area under curve that is important not a momentary peak that reads good on sales literature.

& lets not forget the months & months of rigourous PPP development that managed to overlook a serious fuel pump problem!

I know the warranty holds good if things had've let go because of this problem, but who fancies a blow engine half way out of a dangerous junction or in the outside lane of the M1?!

OK Paul..... have you got publishable data/curves?? If one is to campaign, it's necessary be to sure a) that there's a discernable difference, and b) there's hard evidence to support the case! One can hardly approach one's dealer moist-eyed and say 'Dear Mr Dealer, I'm afraid I'm losing out, so can I have a new ECU please!"

S-UK/Prodrive aren't fools (well, Prodrive aren't) and will have seen this coming....

Red face

This is gonna be fun. Paul has the fattest, flattest torque 'curve' I have ever seen, and still running standard boost

As a regular passenger and having been in PCBs Sti7, all I can say is its a totally different car. Its like going from the standard car to the ppp all over again
