Another case of insider dealing. I went into cop shop today with my producer after paying for a parking ticket in parking bay outside (run by local council). Got back to my car to see that a parking attendant from the council had parked in the bay next to me, and they didnt bother to purchase a ticket. Despite seeing warnings in the cop shop saying that any cars parked illegally/without a ticket outside will be subject to fines etc. I suppose they checked all the other cars for tickets when they left the area, and no doubt if i had no ticket i would have been fined.

I think they're just as likely as you or i to get them from CAMERAS, it's when they are tugged by their pals that its "ok this time".
But hey, every profession has perks - i get free internet etc at work

I got done for 99 mph on the M62,had to appear at Bury magistrates court, got a solicitor, ended up with 6 points £350 fine, solicitor was £200 for half an hour work.
They did want to ban me but told them needed car for work and for ferrying around my sick mother....
Hope you can understand this as my spelling is a bit bad
Ps I was trying to catch up some **** who had cut me up(I was in a 306 TD flat out
)then my car turned blue,he did me and the car I was trying to catch.
Later Yoza
Edited to say M62 not M6

Sorry to hear that mate.
Best advice i can give you is to get a good lawyer. Mail me off line if you want to know who i used.
I got caught last year doing "above the posted speed limit" this year and like Yoza i got a £350 and 5 points.
Its not really worth trying to get off a technicality, best just go to court, get good representation and grovel with the magistrates.
If you have a clean licence then IMHO they will be lenient with you.
Good luck
Ali

If you were clocked on Vascar, it is worth remembering that the speed recorded is an average speed not the actual speed as Vascar works on time/distance between two points. There is no need for coroboration from another, and the training the operator receives is full, intensive and covers every possibility. So if you were told that you were recorded at an average speed of say 100.2 over a quarter of a mile, the real speed would probably have been nearer 110 (I'm not saying it is, I'm just using it for demonstration purposes). Now the Magistrates realise that an average is slower than an actual so they take this into account but it works in your favour.
To question the operation unless you have really strong evidence or grounds to support this theory is unlikely to cut any ice with the beak, apart from the fact that when they convict it could be steeper than if you pleaded guilty with mitigation.

Yes it was northbound. The guy was on a police 'mound' by the hard shoulder.
Some useful comments on the five0 board, except a few comments that are a bit patronising and illfound. I suppose the police in question never speed themselves, either that or they whip their licence saver out of the pocket if pulled. Still that should be a completley different thread
And of course im not bitter at all
lol
(Yes after the bend)
