Chris, we monitor boost pressure and the air/fuel ratio on every run. I feel its a bit pointless doing a run without it, as you don't learn much more than a number to tell your mates otherwise. Its part of the reason power tests are more expensive.
We have a select monitor, delta dash, and det cans - but we won't be using them for the power tests. If you want a full diagnostic set-up the price will be a lot more than £50 I'm afraid.
Not having enough load on the rollers is a problem with a lot of rollers in the UK. This is one of the reasons cars are run in 4th gear normally, as the acceleration rate is slow enough to allow the turbo to build boost (wheelspin on cars over 400bhp is another reason). The problem is the runs take longer, and allow heat to affect top-end power figures. We can generate more boost in 3rd gear on the rollers, than your car will produce in 4th on the road - depending upon how your boost is controlled. We can adjust the roller loading for dyno tests - and we produce runs in 3rd or 4th within 1bhp usually.
It should be an interesting day.
Chris

Chris,
appologise for not getting in touch sooner. Have had to do a lot of running around due to the job over the last week. Going to pull the car from the maybe's and attend as a spectator (car due 15k sevice). Can you give me directions for G-Force in aylsbury and the start time.
Regards

Hi Colin,
Sorry to hear about your car. Hope it's ok for the day.
I was going to bring the white one but I've recently done some mods to the green one and want to get a direct comparison on the rollers.
My white car did 260 atw there, so want to see what the green one does.
Also, the green one is prettier for the photos
Look forward to meeting you.
Cheers
Rich

It wasn't me I was in Southampton all day
Chris, slightly cheeky but is there any chance of roughly setting up my HKS GCC on my first run I have just fitted a fuel pressure regulator and I now have got a flat spot just below 4,000 rpm, I got a feeling it could be the coil packs on their last legs though I'm planning very soon to come and get my HKS FCON 5 and GCC set up by you, just waitng for a load of bits to turn up which should have been here and fitted for Saturday

lol@MOSI, was that you in the green car?
It was me getting a sneaky run in, unfortunately I can't be there myself on sat and had some fine tuning of the map to be done.
Just to get the ball rolling and set the scene, mine made 266bhp ATW which equated to 343bhp@ the flywheel using the G-Force software. Torque was calculated at 325lbs/ft. Not bad for a car that started life with 211bhp and is still on std internals!!
I'm sure there'll be far more powerful cars there on the day and look forward to seeing the results.
Big thanks to Chris and Steve Simpson for their help.

Was there too but didn't run on the dyno. Was road mapping with Steve to take into account the new exhaust....that you liked!
It will be a surprise to see what I get on Saturday as have no idea at all!

Left my Audi on the road outside G-Force - came back and a mega big dent in the front wing
ref : http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?s=11d77e041a39e40175157d9fa63e0bd9& threadid=19689
Whoever did it left a blag note with incorrect details on (people in the cafe across the rd were obviously watching!)
So it cost me about £1k to come and see a couple of Scoobs yesterday!! - oh, and Simmo of course!

Thanks (I think) for the trip out MOSI, the launch control was something else. Email me details on the MoTeC and that side of things please.
You missed Harvey as he came after you went.
I'm going to have to get in touch with Simmo........again
Good to see everyone and some "celebrities" and old friends.
Thanks to Chris, even though I didn't actually get a bacon sandwich.

Tim, best not ask me to drill down into tech detail - I'm crap at that sort of stuff!!
Basically, its a MoTeC M4 Pro ECU - mapped by Fraser MacKellar (ex MoTeC UK Ops Manager - before he went freelance) - same guy that maps Simon Norris (Norris Designs) cars - not cheap, but good gear. ALS (with throttle kicker) and Launch Control is standard on that model...best you speak with Mike @ Steve Hill M-Sport as they supplied/fitted it (you know Mike anyway dont you?)
Simmo is at G-Force next Thursday, mapping an Evo VII - will save on your expense if you book him up then :-)
Catch you soon
Steve

If your looking for someone to map a Motec, give Mark at Owen Developments a call (01865 820580 , www.owendevelopments.co.uk).
He has been doing lots of work with fraser over the years , is reasonably close to you and more importantly truly superb when it comes to mapping.

Just like to say I had a great day as this was my first rolling road event. Cheers to Chris for taking the time to run my car again when I wasn't happy with the first set of figures, much happier with the 2nd set!
Nice to put a few faces to names and see some very tasty machinery in action.
