The forester heated mirrors come on with the rear demister. Not that that'll help you!

 

So has anyone got an Import Impreza with folding mirrors that doesn't mind pulling it apart abit?

 

Helloooooo.... trawling through the threads and found this... any P1 in Essex had the folding mirrors fitted...?

I need / want / need NOW.. :-)

 

Puff where abouts are u based? Thinking if it would be possible for me to try ur mirrors on my car. Let me know what you think.

Sorry, I've only just found this thread, but may be able to help you a bit.

Here is a link to an MY01 wiring diagram which includes all of the wiring on that model for heated and folding mirrors. Hopefully this will be similar to the wiring on you car.

To all the P1 Owners

I have managed to source a pair of folding mirrors and the central switch, which is a direct replacement for the current adjusting switch in the centre console.

If you just fit the replacement switch and the mirrors, only held on by three screws (although you do have to take off the door trim to connect the mirrors up). Lo and behold it works, just like it says on the tin!!

So I would suggest you all need to find a pair of mirrors and the all important new switch and go for it.

I just got a response back from a breakers.... 100.00 for the pair plus the VAT & Postage....

Anybody think thats a good price....

I got a price a while back from them for £160 (might have been INC VAT though). Best to double check and double double check before buying

 

I was quoted £120+ VAT from Grade A but the mirrors needed to be painted. I'll try them again, they may have got some sonic blue ones in by now

Ordered my pair from Midland impreza.com should be here in the morning. He had two sets left in sonic blue so if you want the last one give graham a call.

 

Got them on the car after a re-spray & they work great

 

SO from what ive read so far can buy a set of these folding mirrors and the control switch and just plug them in to my 98 UK Turbo and they will work....?

 

BAH so far we know you can get them working with just changing the switch and mirrors on a P1. You'll need to check your wiring to see if the same is true for your MY98.

 

what does it need to have or look like...?

 

Need to have 5 pins on the mirror side connector and and 9 pins on the switch side. This is show on Mikcle's diagram on the 1st page.

 

Grade-a just quoted me £150+vat for the mirror and switch....
