Just blitzed an Elise..

"When a Honda leaves the factory it tends to stay put together. .... My Honda has been totally spot on from day one."
Reading evo mag it seems that CTR's have bad build quality. THis fits with my m8s experience who has one. Ill take the lotus thanks!!
"We attributed the badly chipped paintwork of our CTR to the amount of time it spent close behind other cars, in range of flicked-up gravel, during the course of photography. But no. Just about every piece of CTR correspondence we received mentioned bad stone chipping, even on the roof-mounted rear spoiler.
Some owners had bits resprayed, and several mentioned that their cars had poorly made and ill-fitting bodykit parts replaced under warranty
Many of you reported creaky interior trim and mysterious rattles that dealers were unable or unwilling to track down and fix. Another common criticism of the cabin was how easily the plastics scratched, something we noticed with our car but simply put down to its especially hard life.
A couple of you noted electric window failures, and a couple more had alarm/ immobiliser difficulties.
Also subject to critical comment was the Alcantara covering on the side bolsters of the front seats. which was easy to stain and mark, and in a few instances starting to ruffle up"

Boys! Boys! Half a mo'
<scouser mode>
calm down, calm down
</scouser mode>
It's horses for courses, surely? Not everybody needs to scream about everywhere. Different cars deliver different experiences. No Scoob on Earth will ever have the finesse and delicacy of an Elise. None should be surprised when a Scoob trounces one either. A different day and driver would see another result. Woss all this 'nur-nur-nee-nur nur' playground stuff??
Aahh. The cut 'n' thrust of debate.
PS - I drive a Scoob and *hope* to be in a position of adding an Elise to it next year.

Guys,
I am really chuffed to bits that Mega has really helped give the CIVIC type r a good name on here, and by the sounds of things the owners a good name as well. (thats if he owns one!)
I have had my Civic for about 5 months now, and I have to say i love it! Now before everyone says 'oh my god another boring CTR owner preaching about how good his Jap bit of crap is' I am not here to do that!
I would love a Scooby, simply at 22 can't afford to run one, its that simple. However by no means do i think that it would whoop a scooby, albeit maybe a bogo one, as for the Elise then as has already been discussed maybe in certain circumstances!
Again I looked at a second hand elise but as my only car where do your friends and golf clubs go? Yeah I know they walk and you dont play such a stupid sport in the first place!!!
Anyhow there was no real point to this post, except to say that the vast majority of CTR owners are not clouded with the same air of thought as Mr Mega, so if any of the Scottish boys/girls are up at Knockhill and see a red ctr, or a group of us, dont assume we are all t*ats! Instead show me your Scoob, Pax laps on offer just so you can see how our breadvans run!
Cheers
Dave
