The Cupra guys can come but they will have to park along with all the other non-scoob cars. We want to preserve the uniqueness of over 300 scoobs in one field. The day is really aimed at us Scoob drivers. We didn't want to ask loads of different car clubs as things would just get out of hand.
(Hmm, thinking to myself "What and this hasn't?!)
Not being car-racist(eh?) but can you see what i'm getting at?
Cheers, Mark

Remember this meeting is FREE thanks to the kind offer from lightwater valley for use of their field
we set this meet up to give everyone a chance to see hundreds of scoobs parked together in one field
we have appointed cancer research as the official charity for the event and we have an AIM TO RAISE £ 2000 on the day
let us all give to the charity collectors on the day
Thanks

It is indeed the Cancer Reasearch charity that will benefit from any money raised on the day. Many of us have at sometime lost family members to the Big 'C' and the decision to pick this as the nominated charity was an easy one to make.
As this is a free to enter event, we are relying on the generousity of the Scooby owners and passengers to boost the charities funds.
There will be a raffle on the day. However, this will also be a free to enter event. We are relying once again on everyone to 'play the game' and give generously in return for the opportunity to win some terrific prizes.
I don't think it is unreasonable for averyone that attends to through a couple of quid in the Cancer Research bucket. We have set ourselves a target of 2000 pounds on the day. Lets hope we can get somewhere close.
This is without doubt going to be the Scooby event of the year. Lets try and also make it a memorable event for the bods from the Cancer Research charity.

It's official - a bold marker pen "NBO" entry on our calendar says we'll be there (that's me, wife and three lads).
Looking forward to it. The long-range weather forecast says it's cast iron guaranteed to be a hot and sunny day, that's good to know isn't it....wait a minute, that's the forecast for the Atacama Desert.
Not many twisty bits between here and Lightwater so I'll have to get some g forces on the rides in the park. I reckon the biggest thrills are to be had on the Treetop Twister - the ride that claimed the life of a Durham University student, almost two years ago..... to the day. When the ride's cranked up to the top of the track and you ****** a quick look around, fully appreciating just how high up it is and what a long way down it might be, just remember - the whole contraption's only as strong as its weakest link! White knuckle, ashen face, brown pants.
Good choice of charity - everyone knows someone..... Ought to be possible to smash the £2000 target.
Would be amusing to see coverage of the big day in the local media - quite a bizarre event to the layman and fairly photogenic with some surreal shots to be had, I'd say. I've got an up-to-date list of newsdesk contacts and email addresses for NE media if anyone wants it.
Slap on the back to all the organisers - you'll be puffing your chests out with pride on the day.
Tim.

Tim,
Will you be joining the Tyne Tees Scoobies convoy that will be starting at the Ramside Hall at around 9.00am before meeting up with the Cumbrian Scoobs at Scotch Corner at 10.00am for what should be the biggest Scoob Convoy on the day (Possibly 100 cars).
Can you please email the list of news contacts please. I will be meeting Lord Harding tonight so will discuss the local media aspect of the event.
Cheers
Martin

Great to see that monies go to a named charity and not to somebody unknown...If there is a shortfall on the £2k target then I'll arrange for any deficit to be met..

. WOW
another cancer charity raising event
1 guess how much midlife has spent on Mods
2 guess how long he spends polishing it every night
£2000 should possible on the day
Remember the event (unlike other commercial ran events ) is
FREE FREE FREE so if 400 scoobs each donate say £5 (which is 30 miles worth of petrol in a typical scoob)we are going to do the magic £2000
