Who is the youngest scooby owner??????
I purchased my current subaru (sti iv type-r) in June 1999, imported it myself from Japan. I was 18 at the time, my 19th Birthday wasn't until August 12th 1999.
I did wait a while before I modded it, as it had already came down from Japan with a Monster Sport replacement air-filter and a Monster Sport Muffler.
I believe I started to modify the car from its existing state in April 2001. Changed the exhaust system (hks hyper), and induction kit (hks racing suction kit), and a few months later the turbo and a the ecu (link). Late October 2001, started on the next project - 2.5litre
I am now 22, the 2.5litre project should be finally finished at the end of this month (Jan 2003) - even more things that I didn't antipate have changed on the car... I guess the only thing that is still standard, apart from the interior, is just the shell.
Lots of money spent on the car, but it is all worth it. Even though I do live on an island that is only 12miles by 9, and a top speed of 40mph!

I am 22 with a MY97 Sport, not willing to pay £3500 to insure a turbo.(not yet anyway)
When the insurance comes down i will definetly be getting a turbo.
Know of a guy who got a macrae series for his 17th birthday wrote it off soon after and his parents got the lucky git a 22B

Im 21 and imported my 95 wrx myself. Imported it from Japan and got it 3 weeks ago. Had mods bought as the car was being shipped. All paid by myself, all insurance and everything else is paid by me. no debts, loans or credit cards. Just saving. No im not a student and work for my money!
Now ive got the car, i have spent a few other bits and bobs on mods which i got contacts myself. Dad works for Subarus so will help with servicing but he also helps out other mates in the area with scoobs

When i was 21 i had a 99 uk turbo which i paid for myself although my parents loaned me a couple of grand, i paid the whole car off within 8 months so i could save to upgrade to another car. I now have a 94 escort cossie, the only thing is i cant afford to insure a full year so im just doing 6 months over the summer. Im now drivin a van or a 520 auto beemer, try drivin them after a scoob. Its all worth it though when the cossies on the road cos its gonna be 400 brake! yeah baby.
Got my97 Turbo 2000 2 months ago and im 20 for another few weeks. I work 6days a week to pay to run the thing, but i have a confession, I had to run to daddy for £400 loan but came up with the rest myself.
Insurance would have been £500 cheaper if i'd waited a few months but found the right car at the right price!

I was a bit older when I bought my first car, but it *was* a 2.4S 911 and I *was* still on L-plates. =:0
£1000 p.a. insurance in 1978! The guys at the Beehive in Richmond couldn't believe it when I drove up for a PCGB meeting!

LOL @ N_W_S
Is it just me that seems to always be running out of money? Just when I think I have enough for some mods to the car, something goes wrong with the house and it uses up the mod money...
My fault fro economising on buying a wreck of a house to renovate shortly followed by a Scoob I suppose. Sudden loss of interest in the house
