Read a bit on bbc news site this morning that said that even Richard Wilson (Victor Meldrew) reckons it was a setup to do with ratings.

Looks like it worked. millionaire got 48% Victor got 38%

I heard that she is some distant relative of Camilla Parker-Hound. Apparently they have never met.

Fixed? Probably.....

Giving away a million quid is a drop in the ocean, compared to the extra advertising revenue that ITV pulled in that night...

audience = ratings = advertisers = revenue

Mind you, I didn't know who 'Eleanor of Aquitaine' was married to...did anyone else?
