I am amazed by the versatility of the console I have loads of movies and games saved to my HDD and still have loads of space. with the new version of X-Box media player it can only get better too.

There is no limit to the stuff you can do with an X-Box and I intend to take full advantage. Except when it comes to online gaming, I won't be cheating but unfortunately there will be those that will.

ROTFLMAO @ shunty

"Its not the winning that matters its the taking part".

I wont be cheating with Xbox Live, as mentioned above, it defeats the point of it. It doesnt take a genius to load up cheats but it does take a genius to win at MotoGP, man thats tough !

Hanley,

Don't be so nieve to think just because people do things at computer fairs makes it legal.

If you think that mods mentioned for the XBOX are so legal, why have they been pulled by BIG NAMED INTERNET dealers AFTER legal proceedings.

The fact is using the original XBOX BIOS in ANY form other than it's original use (inside the machine and untampered), is illegal.

The guy that ORIGINALLY (who is very well known on the underground scene) hacked the BIOS on the xbox (to enable all the mentioned methods to work), WAS DIRECTLY contacted by Microsoft about legal action....... funny how the hex code then disappeared off his website.

The original MESSIAH chip manufacturer was taken to court by SONY, and SONY WON!!!!

The law is the law... you may not agree and I may not agree, but thats life.

You SHOW ME IN DOCUMENTATION the law that says you are allowed to make a copy of an original!!!! Cause I have seen documentation that states the opposite.

Regards,
Shaun.

Just because Microsoft manage to get people to bow to their demands does not mean they are morally or legally right it means they are bigger stronger and richer than almost every one else.

Taken from CNET.com

Lik Sang was one of the top worldwide retailers of mod chips, devices that, once soldered to a game console's main circuit board, disable security components. The chips typically allow a game machine to play legally and illegally copied discs, run unauthorized software and play game discs intended for other geographic regions.
I draw reference to the phrase 'LEGALLY AND ILLEGALLY COPIED DISCS'

This would tell me that the LEGALLY copied discs are your own personal backups are they not????

"Bow to their demands". Hang on, you bought into it! You're most likely using Windows right now!

Hanley, why not use Race Cars for your analogy , there are rules and regulations that you must adhere to if you want to participate. Hanley, are you trying to tell me that you can flash the XBox chip? Or will you finally accept that you need hardware.

Jack

The chip soldered is hardware, I agree.

BUT, it is only the software that is modified. The chip contains identical coding from the original BIOS apart from the detection.

The Matrix chip requires no soldering and allows you to flash the bios on the X-Box itself

Question

So, I have a few questions then....

(1) What is the best chip to get for your XBox (for playing CDrs, DVDr etc), preferrably solderless, as I can't solder

(2) How much are they - accurate prices please I want to get one ASAP

Thanks

Dan

The Matrix comes with no bios for legal reasons. You have to find and flash it yourself, using the programmer provided.

Email me if you need assistance
