Revenge :)
Austen, with the greatest respect, S0d off! What is wrong with the Atos? Its a good replacement for the Scoob (Justy) I used to have before I learned the error of my ways in having such a powerful car and not being able to drive it to its full extend without incurring the wrath of sactimonious people on here.
Its not that part that gets me about these threads, its the little boys that need to come on here and tell everyone else about it, expecting them all to tell them what a great big man they are.
Dave T-S....hairy muff - your entiled to your opinion. Nice to know your mature enough to meet me, have a few pints with me, maybe come for a spin in the car with me (note: not after the pints) and suss me out as a person in the flesh

I know the majority of people on SN hate the V's threads but I like them. I like storys of a lighthearted tussel where its not down the high street at rush hour and where there are friendly waves afterwards. I urge people not to shy away from posting their experiences cause I for one do like to read of such things
Its been said before but I'll say it again.....'If you don't like, don't read!!!'
There is a lot of stuff on SN that doesn't appeal to me and accordingly I don't read it. If you don't like reading about V's or MAF sensors or which mortgage should I get then don't read it!! Simple

LOL at Atos Lad
Whats an Atos anyway, don't think I've seen one - probably have but just didn't notice
The second best race I've had was probably the time I got wasted by a laden white van when I was in my mum's 1.0 polo. It was so close for so long but he finally got away and we only got up to about 80mph......took 20 odd seconds to get there!!

He was in front and by a fairly silly speed I'd slowly passed.
1) Did you actually out-accelerate him? I can't stand these people you leave standing at the start of a dual carriageway, then when you've demonstrated your superiority
and back off at about 80-85 they come steaming past thinking they've proved something....
2) Do you think he knows you're the bloke who used to have a Saxo? If not, where is the 'revenge' element?
3) Tracks are better for testing your mettle against other machinery. (600 bhp Supras aren't so fast on twisty circuits
)I'll admit I've had a go at some faster cars on the roads, just to compare accelerations, but I give up before silly speeds. TBH I'm not that interested in whether my car's faster than something else from 120-140, because I don't spend a lot of time up there. And the Scoob's aerodynamics really start to let it down from about 90-95 upwards.PS: It's only in Spain (IIRC) they're called 'Atos' -- in the UK it's 'Atoz' as in 'A to Z'. Equally I assume the 'Getz' isn't named after a jazz saxophonist, but is so-called because it 'Getz' you from one place to another.

i could have sworn i signed up for a subaru forum not reliant robin owners weekly lol I think seeing that 99% of u break the speed limit at some point its a bit unreasonable slagging someone off for a race just coz theyre young.
SB, as I don't make a habit of going to haggis ******* land, I think you can fairly safely say it is unlikely I shall ever get in the same car as you, or for that matter race you on the public highway
The best bit is i'm not that young (24) there are a lot of peeps on here with faster cars that are much younger!
Yes I out-accelerated him (just) I very slowly closed the gap in 3rd and passed in 4th. Just as I was passing I gave a friendly toot-toot and then we both backed off due to us catching the traffic. He moved in behind me at a safe distance gave a flash and thumbs up and we continued up the bypass like every other sucker at 50mph trying to get to work.
He doesn't know I'm Saxo Boy yet but he will do
When he beat me the first time I recongnised where his car lived so I put a picture of the VTS under his windscreen with a friendly note thanking him for the tussle and inviting him onto scoobynet. He never came on here that I'm aware but by sheer fate Rich S bumped into him at a function and he mentioned his enjoyable tussel with a Saxo driver who left a nice note re: scoobynet. It's called being friendly....maybe some of you should try it!
The thread title is for dramatic effect. I didn't see his car and think 'must race, must win'!! FFS what do you think I'm like!!

Your loss Dave
Unlike many of the peeps in the 'mum quotes' thread I've not had people have to scream at me to slow down, etc - not even my own mum!
Nowt wrong with Scotland by the way! Appart from the English that live here

Maybe cause your not a very enthusiastic person re: cars. I am, I wanted to know what he'd done to his Impreza, etc. Some people find it sad that I'll go and meet up with bunch of like minded impreza owners. I get slagged from my friends, workmates and family because of the whole scooby thing, the meets, the waves, scoobynet, etc but it doesn't bother me. My brother would talk to anyone anywhere about football till he's blue in the face but I'm not going to slag him for it....it's what he enjoys.
Whatsmore, I didn't want him to think that some 'ned in a saxo that tried it on' I wanted him to realise that I took the decision to play along cause it was safe to do so and because I wanted to see how much faster the scooby was.

Chris, The pic under the wiper doesn't seem that strange to me (but then i'm from haggis ******** land too). It was an invite to join Scoobynet, afterall, the guy drove a scoob. We call it "being friendly" north of the border

I used to work at a Hyundai dealership, the Atoz is truly abismal excuse for a car but such a laugh to hurtle around in

They even did a semi automatic one... ordinary manual gearbox but automatic clutch
Obviously we tested flat out gear changes, I've even picked a wheel up in one
