This vehicle in STANDARD form (something none of you seem to be able to live with) and in the real world (not a technical data sheet) is easily able to keep up with a Subaru (except 0-60 but that means very little on the road) - and in some places surpass it!!

i'm rallying with me flag

still lmao at above response

perhaps the x5 i went up against just gave up when he saw the scoob behind.....seriously though an x5 beat a scoob once for whatever reason..perhaps the scoob driver thought it funny and let him go...don't no as i wasn't there...just don't kid yourselves

My mum's Daihatsu Fourtrak seriously kicks the *** of the Impreza. But that's only in towing heavy horseboxes across muddy fields

Taz,
Bring the X5 along on the next Exmoor run - that'll prove it one way or the other!

gents...X5 and exmoor here we come!!

Although there is nothing to prove two things will happen...1)in the very tight stuff the scoobs will be faster 2) at the end of the day the collective jaws will be on the floor and amazed at what an X5 can do...

But it will be very very funny!!!

Sue,
touche! yes the brakes are superb! I have seen a passenger in the back end up in the footwell becuase he was not wearing his seat belt (silly boy). For a slow old brick it stops increadibly well. ALthough I am not sure if it would be as forgiving when due to driver error you get all out of shape on a bend..

p.s. how early do you start posting...you and CHU must be on shifts

Nimbus,

The difference is we all know each other so we've had to tone down the differences Seriously, no need to get into that sort of debate, we all love our cars thats why we spend so much on 'em. Just need to accept others have different opinions. Lets face it, if one car was that much better than another, that's all you'd see on the road...

Thumbs up

I have to agree that the X5 is 'kin quick and agile too (for it's size)

I would have bought one except it's 4wd system is pants - I'm one of the few who actually needs proper 4wd occasionally so I had to make do with a 4.7 V8 Jeep Grand Cherokee instead.

If you want something big and don't venture too far off the tarmac then the X5 is about as good as it gets

On the straighter parts of the moor the X5 will keep up with the scoob's no problem as I do in my old nissan, but on the very twisty stuff the scoob will leave it for dead. But should be fun and something for me to play with.
