Hi Squizz,
yeah, that's the list(supportedmodels.pdf ) I checked . But a PPPed My00 is not special mentioned there. I think there should not be a problem, because the OBD- protocol should be the same in all cars with the same MY. BUT I'am NO sepcialist!!
So pherhaps someone can tell me directly if the SECS 1003 device is compatible to a PPPed MY00.
cheers,
Joachim

Phil - The Connector and position of the ECU plug in the car is the same on the MY01 as on the MY99/00. So have a look at the SECS1003 Fitment guide download on the www.psi3.co.uk website, and on one of the later pages there's a picture of connecting the unit to the car.
The ECU plug is in a recess at the bottom of the dashboard steering column, and slightly to the right...
Squizz.

I have my engine management light on today.
Would this device tell me what the problem is and allow me to just Reset that problem, Not reset the whole ECU??
I dont want the ECU having to learn again sa it's been ECUTEKED.
Dave.
(Any Group Buys going to be happening)

Sorry to hear that mccltd.
As far as I'm aware (and I cannot speak directly for Psi3), if the CEL is due to sensor failures or something of that ilk, then the SECS unit will indicate the problem (or line of enquiry).
As far as the ECU reset facility is concerned, I don't know how that applies with an ECUTEK...

Is the unit ok to run with a PPP'ed UK STi7 (MY02)
Also, is there a pod mount available for this car as I already
have a 2DIN CD Player taking up the slots where I guess you would normally place the unit.
Cheers,
Chris

My mate Fizz is running a PPP'd WRX MY01. It works fine, with the only problem being that the Boost reported is that which the ECU is fooled into thinking by the PPP piggy-back chip.
Thus it only shows up to 0.8 Bar but the real figure is actually higher.
I'm sure this is the same with STi7 PPP - Simon/PCB?

Hi Simon,
You have mail and an order confirmation for an SECS1003 device with a top-pod-mount to fit a PPPed MY00. !!!!!!!!!!
I hope the device is soon able to work with an external oil-preasure and oil-temperature sensor!! Have You any idea when that will be??? I think these features are really very interesting!!! Not only for me, how I belive.
Take care,
Joachim

if you have a check light then if a component is replaced the ECU will be reset to clear the error to ensure the car works again.. so which ever way you do it it will need an ecu reset... I shouldn't affect the mapping but as you say regardless of the error it'll have to learn again anyhow..

Do tou know anyone who has a replacement tray section (to refit to standard for servicing after i have cut mine in half!), I ask because i still have warranty left on the car and was thinking they probably would not like the addition of the SECS. Saying that there is no real mod to the vehicle other than the plastic butchery that would affect the warrenty. Has anyone had a warrenty problem regarding the SECS unit yet?

PCB - Thanks.
But in answer to the second part of the question, is there an alternative mounting to that shown. Eg. can it be mounted similar to the defi's in place of the clock ?
Cheers,
Chris

Fitz, our website will soon include a S1004 which is a pod mount version for MY01+ cars. Again these will be genuine subaru pods, and will be available towards the end of next week.
If you want to know more give me a call 07796 992 992 or 01453 793011.
