Stephen,

as Martin said, Town End Garage out the back of Carnforth are a specialist Jap Import and rally prep garage - I have spent money there and service was impressive, they even washed my car for me

Graeme and all other Southern Northerners As the meet up point is "somewhere" in Carlisle, how about we all meet up at the services just after Junction 35 (Northbound ) - they are called Burton-in-Kendal services. Please note NOT the services before Lancaster as I would have to drive to Preston to come all the way back up again

Again, as the meet up time is "somtime" around 10:30am, how about meeting up at said servies at 9:30am so we can have a coffee before commencing battle

See you all there, Jon & Tia

Thumbs up

Good to see the southern {northern} raiders are getting organised for the raid!!
there is optimax at 30 miles into the raid but NO SUPER UNLEADED on the RAID !!!

i suggest if you need super you come off at junction 42 go just past tesco and the garage is on the RHS 0.5 miles off the M6 after filling head back for the M6 then up to J44 for the RAID starting point.

you wlll need fuel for aprox 150 miles depending how much you drink!!

7 days to go *****************

Hi lordharding and Jon aka Festa

Sorry for the slow response but I generally don't login everyday.
Normally login when the wife is watching Eastenders...!!!

Anyway thanks for the invite for the 'Raid'. What are the details for Sunday?
How many people/cars?
How far?

Cheers

Bry

Hello Bry, glad you could join us

Depends where abouts in Cumbria you are but I understand the meeting point to be "somewhere" in Carlisle at 10:30 - John to expand further - but I will be coming up from Lancaster with others to meet at Burton-in-Kendal services at 9 - 9:30 before running up the M6 to meet the others.

Where abouts in Cumbria are you?
Cheers, Jon

Red face

hi rusty whats an oxymoran?
(not been a university graduate )

hi bry
and for anyone else who doesnt know where the start point is

Sunday 24 November 2002

the Holliday inn carpark
kingstown car park

come off the motorway at j 44 thats the top one for carlisle (north) turn for Carlisle and get in your right hand lane (if you look to your right you will see the hotel ) turn right at the first set of traffic lights signposted superstore (asda) and retail park,
as you turn you will see a large retail park with currys comet PC-world and homebase on the RHS turn in there and ignore the car park on the left and the right and head for the holliday inn carpark and lesure club head for the front of the hotel and you will see all the scoobs parked there!!!!

i will be there for 10 AM and look forward to seeing you all up to 1030 ish!
of course we will not be departing untill rusty arrives with his southern - northern convoy of RAIDERS !!!!

probably first group will set off at 1045 with 7 minute intervals for the next.

is everyone clear on where to meet?

is everyone who is going registered yet on here?
(as i have to book the number of meals for the RAIDERS)

is everyone fired up??

Hi Lordy

Count me IN again for the start....special dispensation! I have explained to wifey how many man hours these things take to organise and the blood sweat and sacrifices entailed by yourself (those kielder stages must have been hard!!).

Can you "leak" the route etc sometime as I need to fit it in with the famly trip to Harry Potter movie which I can't escape from.

Midlife.....

(exhaust toothbrush cleaning starts tomorrow) PS anybody any ideas about the best thing to clean my Magnex exhaust back to gleaming ??

Oxymoron - two words used in the same sentence that contradict each other e.g. military inteligence (name the film...) go back and have a look at your post and work it out

Dyslexic so not sure who I am TSL great set up , not cheep but you pays what you get . I have had a fair bit of work done there, brakes ,tarty bits geo, springs and a gear **** !! Only one slight hic up was when they tried to sort my exhaust out . scooby sport sorted the problem at the time as TSL don't deal with the type of exhaust i was after. steve would use them

I had it done by a local company (for local people ). The geometry was set to Prodrive settings and Sunday will be it's baptism of fire. All I've done in it so far is drive home from work and up the drive which was a relief as it's quite steep!
