"an analogy for you: a dangerous criminal on the loose, with known psychopathic tendencies, comes into possession of say, a handgun."
The big word here is "alledgedly"!!!!!
The dossier proved nothing, and was full of "he might have..." and "if he got ten tons of weapons grade uranium..." and "within several years he could fire a missile 800 miles" waffle.
Send in the inspectors, prove for a fact what he is doing, and if it is "illegal" then take appropriate action. Then, as far as i am concerned, appropriate action would most certainly include blowing up any WMD factories, arresting Saddam and trying him in an international court and so on.

you are still unable to distinguish or prioritise between the activities of israel - ruled by a democratically elected government - and the activities of iraq - ruled by a tyrranical despot. israel's actions, whatever you think of them, do not compare to those that hussein has inflicted on his own people and neighbours.
to deny that is to deny fact and makes you an apologist, appeaser and, sadly, a fool.
suggest you watch the following programme, sunday night at 7.45pm, C4. preview from the newspaper:
"War on Iraq: Saddam Must Go": Middle East expert Amir Taheri presents his case for an attack on Iraq, asserting that the debate has so far ignored the wishes of the majority of Iraqi exiles. He believes that the West should act to put a stop to a man he sees as unstable and a threat not only to his own people, but to the whole world."
might open your eyes a little...

No-one has yet explained to me why it's OK for the Israelis to ignore UN resolutions for thr last "n" years, but it's NOT OK for Saddam to do it?
I would politely suggest the following explanation:
Lots of people in the high political positions in the USA are Jews and support the state of Israel, politically and militarily. Given that no one has a stronger army than these two together, the UN and whoever can whine all they want, it wont change a thing.

A point worth remebering - he WILL use the weapons of mass destruction on us, Isreal, Iran and whoever takes his fancy. This will result in a strike by Isreal immediately (they do not mess about) then the Arab states will get embroiled then we have WW3.
Thats if we do NOTHING as you are all proposing
Should we take him out? Godamned right we should - NOW!!!
