What age do you want to retire at?
I'm 25 and don't know what I'll be doing next week never mind in years to come! I don't have a pension, savings or **** all, nads to it, I'm spending mi money now, I might not even reach retirement age
My current mortgage which is killing me to pay finishes when I am 50... so ideally to work until I am 55 and have 5 years saving what I would have spent on the mortgage would be good..
Although I don't enjoy work and it would be good to perhaps buy a couple of houses to rent out and therefore help my income etc..
Although all these ideas require money in the first place and there is always an element of risk.. but it would be good to at least slow down work and do less hours..
Chances are we will probably move house and get another mortgage and mess up my 55 idea but who knows..

Jlangg -- I can swap between funds within Std Life pretty freely with no penalty / fees so I thought I'd bung it in one with growth until stock market etc turns around (if it ever does ...) then switch back.
At least I can halt the loss until things look better ...

Bob, you're a star! Don't take any advice from me of course!
Semi retired now. Part-time wastrel.
Prefer to spend my money on activities I can enjoy now, while I'm relatively young
than when I'm older and less physically active. Ok, not going to be rich, but who cares, I'd rather be happy.
