The Nick Wild Tribute
for belle vue, it's the kids who we need to be aware off. rather than cars being nicked professionally, it is the damage from mutilation to our cars
/stripping things/breaking in which is the main concern.
i'm not saying that pros wouldn't be there but if we stressed that this is a major concern, i'm sure security at the stadium could be arranged.
hopefully, none of these scums will spoil the evening.

Told you all where to park
Go to denton, just off the junction there, there is a travel inn, its off road so they cannot see your cars, there is a pub/restaurant there
its around 42 quid per night and its nice and safe
Tony

Right then, a quick update on security issues.
The organisers did say we could park within the CCTV cover and offered to increase security near the cars.
But given the level of concern and my own wish to minimise risk,it has been agreed that the Charity Cars will use the "overflow pits".
I gather this is a floodlit gated section of the car park.
Competitors vehicles will be parked adjacent to their "race cars"??? and the Scoobs will be corralled alongside this area.
This means that:
Spaces can be reserved for people attending
For most of the evening members of our group will be near the parked cars.
For the narcissists amongst us there will be a nice display of Scoobs in the car park
BTW thanks for the offers of help I WILL be in touch soon.

Chell, I don't recommend you play with the big boys this time. They may be a little rough, even for you and Amanda
The Formula One Stock Car drivers, including the recently crowned world champion, have decided to join the charity bandwaggon.
With no chance of being excluded/losing championship points and a rule book comprising about three paragraphs they are liable to be looking to settle old scores.
Running fully fledged reinforced and welded cars equipped with steam tanks (i.e no radiators)it's a place for the plain crazy!
Oh, there again perhaps I can get you a car

No need to worry about drink induced amnesia this time dear. No one asked, you were voulunteered by Mr S

BK to say I'll be absolutely desperate for help during the coming week is an understatement.
So as soon as I have times and locations sorted you and anyone else silly enough to offer will get mail.
Andy Spectators, spannermen, sledge hammer swingers, supporters all welcome
BTW Chell aren’t you bringing your little gang of Mindless Midlanders along as personal Cheerleaders. After all there’s A Little Chief AND a Macdonalds nearby
Just a general update for those I’ve not yet spoken to. I went off to Spain knowing it wasn’t an ideal time to disappear but things were 90% sorted so no real problem as the promoters and charity would maintain momentum.
Without getting into a Felstedian rant, I tend to believe people will generally do what they promise, big mistake on this occasion. There was two weeks stagnation and to complicate things further the MD of the local car supermarket overruled a decision to donate cars!
So lots of things to put together in the last couple of days including sourcing a dozen old wrecks (sorry a range of vehicles suited to circuit racing and in a state of tune appropriate for use in this type of motorsport)
Consequently the cars may not be perfectly matched and it will be a case of pot luck regarding size cc etc.
I’m sure you will understand if amongst the Escorts and Fiestas I happen to be behind the wheel of a V8 Buick.
Anyway despite the logistical problems the show will go on. This is essentially a cheap and cheerful form of motorsport. My emphasis is on the former, I hope yours will be on the latter.
Drivers, be aware you will be not be climbing into a fully prepped rally car. The cars will start (with a little persuasion) and I’ll try to ensure not too much tarmac is visible through the floorpan. Brakes of course remain an optional extra
As far a I am aware no one, with the exception of Mr “Been there done it bought the Tee Shirt so long ago it doesn’t fit” Felstead, has done this before. So it will be “nudge and spin” racing not the usual move the rear bumper to closest proximity to the drivers seat. Radiators will be retained and mounted in their normal position to encourage restraint/dissipate red mist.
Race format will comprise two heats and a final.
Including enquiries on this thread, we have eighteen listed drivers. At present not all of them have cars, significant amounts of folding/sponsorship will of course influence allocation
Sorry guys a slight dispute over fundraising strategy means we have to make our own entertainment. But we get our own little Subaru section in the Grandstand and can gaze with disdain upon the masses.
