A foot sounds a bit thick.. but suppose it depends on depth... I would want to back fill with concrete and possibly reinforce with some metal rods or somthing.. Pits are a big no no when kids are around.. or pissed people! Also best to slope it and put a trough (sp) at the end so you have something to pump the water out of and also use a viscreen (sp) thats probably a tm though.. pits also make it awkward when using axle stands if the boards rock...

Needed fooking building regs for ours.. but theres nowt wrong with my building work and it passed... Just Our Proposed water butt / drainage (sp) had to be more than proposed... gits.
