Very disappointing . . . .. .

Thread seems to be going slightly off topic here but yes Rice Rocket it would have been nice to have had more Scoobies at AWD especially as I was the first to turn up at 10.30 and wondered if I had the right day.
Grant, Dave and the boys really made an effort to set things up for us and I am sure they would have been a little disapointed on the day.
A special thanks to Dave Brown for his wisdom and technical knowledge around side indicators. - Hope you enjoyed the burger!!!

Bringing this topicback on subject again - the turn out at several events has been a lot lower than expected
I think perhaps we are all suffering from event overload - ie simply too many events to go to. No-one (not even myself) can attend all of them, especially during July and August in peak holiday season when many of us are away.
Most of us are on a budget, and attending every event simply isn't possible from a financial sense, especially if you have to use at least a whole tank fo fuel to get there and back again.
Therefore many people will pick and choose the events they attend, which means lower turn-outs than would have previously been expected for that event. Most people will go to events relatively local to themsleves.
I remember some of the first Impreza meets we had back in 1998 and 1999 - because they were some of the first, we had very good turn-outs at each event, perhaps one every 3 or 4 months. In the subsequent years, we had more events (and more people).
This year, we have had even more events - perhaps too many ?, with another 5 or 6 in the next two months alone!
Although having lots of events, and lots of choice is a good thing, it can mean than sometimes there simply isn't enough people willing and able to go to them all.
I've been thinking of this for some time now, and I think next year I'll reduce the number of events that I personally organise, and leave more up to the regional organisers to sort out

Scooby Regular
Plus, on a summer's Saturday in August, a lot of people will be away on holiday or doing other things. F'instance I was down in the SE of England seeing some friends (made through the Scooby scene).
I don't think that many people BS about the spec of their car here. That's being a little too reactionary.

i attend most of the real events i think the track days i have missed over the last 2 years could be counted on one finger . not very good with meets etc...
so please keep the track events as they are and don't cut them down next year!

Watched the American Gumball Rally with great...ehhh wats the word?
How about a Scottish Scooby Gumball rally. We could all post to say were gonna attened, then no show, and start a witch hunt for the no show's
Anyway, I would be first to rally it to the finish so it might no be worth while

I would definatelly like to be involved in one, no speeding of course
It would be a huge grin factor. Plus we've got added support from the wagon's, who could carry spares and cups of water.
