We can still have that whip round but maybe put it towards a better cause than Chaos's insurance company's pockets :P

I'll be there as a passenger in robbouk's car .. not sure if that counts though!

Btw, anyone want any Optimax Top Trumps as I've got tons of the bloomin' things!

Nice to meet up and check out some really nice cars, especially the corking P1 and the twin turbo Legacy. Thanks to AVI for taking a picture of my Scoob and to Chaos for organising. See you all again on the run to wales, if not before

You may have noticed a black Volvo parked by you lot!!!! That was me and my girlfriend having a look to see what happened at one of your meets. By the time I decided to get out and have a chat you'd all gone to the pub. Picked up new WR Blue STi today so hope to see you all there next time (I presume there's gonna be a next time!!!)

Cheers

Didn't realise we were such an intimidating bunch! You could have approached someone in the car park, after all the odds wouldn't have favoured a carjacker

Or maybe wandered into the pub, did you think we'd be difficult to spot! I certainly noticed you but didn't realise we were the foucus of your attention.

Bet a recording of your conversation would have been have been interesting. "what a bunch of saddos walking around in the twilight taking pictures of their cars etc."

Banshi,

Cheers for that - it was amazing how many turned up. I had a pop up there last time and only saw 3 cars there by 8 o'clock so thought it wasn't popular - but if last night is typical then it's obviously very popular. What would be useful to a new Scooby owner is a 'how to tell which model is which' guide. I'm fairly sure I know what the classic Impreza looks like, but I noticed there were some models with extra vents either side of the bonnet scoop? Also some have a narrower grill with what appears to be more flared headlights - are these imported WRX's? Think the black one parked next to the P1 was like that.

All help greatly appreciated!!!

Chas,

Can you start a new thread for the run to wales and post details of meet up points?
I was talking to Andy (I think?) from Preston (turbo wagon) and we were going to meet up but not sure what time...

Cheers, Jon S

Its a little difficult to predict attendance some people have a long drive and that makes a single pinte quite expensive.

Things have been a little quiet this side of the county. In fact although local I'm really a refugee from the West Yorks Group Chaz has made a great effort to re-establish the Wiggin Tree meets and I'm sure you will be made welcome.

As far as identification is concerned you really need one of the net acolytes By the time big wings are attached, after market spoilers added, wheels changed and interiors upgraded it can be a nightmare.
In fact even the sport owners have been known to add big exhausts and bonnets with those little vents

Cool

you having a pop at sportsters banshi (only joking mate ) i know what you mean about I.D. on the scoobys mine was the red/blue sport with the vented bonnet(on when bought) added (1)wheels and (2)exhaust and (3)interior
(1)15" look bloody awfulIMHO
(2)old one dropped off powerflow similar price to standard stainless one
(3) sports interior and early turbo ones leave a lot to be desired ref comfort, hold and style
anyway got that off my chest
please read this in the manner it was posted im not trying to start a slagging match

No problem at all Bob, a little tongue in cheek comment keeps the wheels turning. Of course they'll always turn faster if you include turbo in the sentence

My very good friend Mr DPS co-ordinates the Sport Register and we have often expressed frustration that so few (usually) risk venturing out with their noisy cousins.

BTW sorry I didn't speak I'm not naturally elitist. We found ourselves corraled in the wrong corner of the pub when we ate and deep in conversation the time just flew.

Will try harder next time before this superiority complex consumes me altogether
