1st Bad Cop Experience...
Though one of the Mondeo cops jumped into the Volvo front seat and had a go at me in the back seat from there, it was the Volvo cop that gave me the producer.
But that would still have to be on the same day wouldn't it?
As they left they were talking about being back in work Monday night, ie they were going to meet up then. So I guess I might have some post by now
The speedo can be calibrated after the event. As soon as is practicable.

What did the traffic bod say? Did he just report you should you fail to produce? or did he say "the full facts will be reported"?
If he just said the producer then its highly unlikely that you'll be processed for speeding. To be honest, you'd know about it, as the reporting would have come from the traffic officer as he's the HO/RT processing officer.
If you need more info or whatever, then feel free to email me, and I'll help you out all I can.

Thanks very much for your advice BuRR, its very kind of you to take the time to help me out.
I don't remember the Volvo cop ever saying, "the full facts will be reported"? But from the parting conversation between the driver (I think he was) of the Mondeo and the Volvo cop, they were going to be getting together on Monday night to discuss the incident further.
The Volvo cop was the one that cautioned me, gave me the white producer ticket with a tick in the box that said "other offence".
The Volvo cop did say to me that the Mondeo cops had alleged that I was speeding but he (the Volvo cop) had not witnessed it. Had he witnessed it, he said that from their description he would have issued a fixed penalty ticket.
After the Mondeo cops had left and I was still in the Volvo calming down, the Volvo cop asked me if there was anything else that I wanted to ask him. I still fuming, said "Well if this goes to court, and they say they had to do 90 to catch me up even though I know I wasn't speeding and that car does not have a calibrated speedo or recording equipment, there are 4 of them, I'm on my own, who are they going to believe?"
He just said I was "Clearly clued up, but it would be improper of him to comment".
Thanks again,
Muf

At the risk of sounding facetious, The question on my mind is 'Are you and they exaggerating the truth a bit'.
You are allowed 10% for Speedo error, and on the motorway, even the coppers cruise at 75-80. I have passed them at 80 and they have ignored me (3mph over the limit). In a civvie car, Its a bit of a close call to get that accuracy in clocking others unless they do it every time they take the car out (which begs the question, are they in the wrong job?), It looks to me that they were keen to get home for the match or something, and you wouldn't move over quick enough (and gave them the bird), so they decided to get pedantic to prove how powerful they are. I wouldn't have stopped for them either.
They used to follow me for miles and stop me all the time in my old Astra GTE when I was wearing a baseball cap cos they though I was a boy racer (@36 I think not. They would never stop me for a genuine reason and apologised when they realised I wasn't a kid, They just thought I looked dodgy. I had to stop wearing it in the end.
Funny enough, on the open roads, I give my Bike much more stick and never really get any trouble off the law.

I can honestly say I was not speeding on this occasion.
There was lots of traffic about, 4-5pm midweek.
I was not in a hurry to get anywhere. I had work the next night in London but was going to drop in on some mates in Bristol that evening. They didn't finish work until gone 6.
I was in my Dads car and treating it with more respect than I do my own
and I averaged 39mpg!

Have these tw@ts in court, Report them to the police complaints Authority as well at www.pca.gov.uk/ . They are hoping that that you will take it on the chin. Are they trying to have you for resisting arrest, or something similar, they didn't identify themselves clearly at any time by your account. You did the right thing by dialling 999 and this will be part of your defence. There are d!ckheads in all walks of life. It just seems sometimes that the Police force seems to have more than their fair share. Why else would anyone want to join apart from than to massage their fragile ego's, After all they don't join up to catch real criminals do they?.
