Steve, good to hear that even at your level you're ok with a wet system.
I've put your Donington date in my diary, I'll have to pop over with a camera and note book

Hi Steve, it’s an E46, although it may not have oil starvation issues, they do also have their fair share of issues. It lives out at the ring.
Ive tracked these for years with a wet sump, just like yourself with no problems. It was when the last engine had oil starvation I think it just left a bitter taste in my mouth to be honest. i also competed in a lot of hillclimbs with the wet sump without any issues

Fair enough Joe I can understand that.
E46 M3. Matty has been running one as a track car for a year or two, as usual he went for it and had a great set up. Very impressed handled brilliantly when I went out in it - really impressed. I think a track prepped one may well be the best bang per buck for a track car, if all is set up properly. Brakes were impressive also and so much easier/cheaper to run...although they have their issues like any car as you say. If I did not have the Subaru, I have so much history tied in with that car it will probably be with me for a long time to come,
an E46 M3 would be my choice of track car.

Jonny yep we will be there all day, will be with Matty. See you then. I am hoping for a dryish day...then again it is March track outing! Might get some wets.
If there is a last minute problem I will message you here.

I must say it is years since I have had a little chat on Scoobynet...reminds me of old times
