This is the perfect stupid, fallacious remark that makes a false dichotomy that is either spoken from ignorance or used as a straw man...It is rather like the 'body count' arguments which are absolutely meaningless and intellectually dishonest...ie: more children die from falling over than die from a suicide bombers...more people die on the roads than die from terrorism...
if you cannot understand why these remarks are pointless, false, meaningless and dishonest..if you cannot deconstruct these remarks, then you are cretin.
The Japanese tourist comment takes absolutely nothing else into account other than a garment..It doesn't take into account religious belief, culture, murder, gender, sexism...nothing..It is utterly facile....
It is rather like saying, 'people who drink water are evil...Hitler drank water'...
This type of moronic stupidity is an enormous part of the problem.

Can you imagine this being made today??
Of course not...
Now imagine it's about Islam and was making jokes about their love of stoning (lots of videos available online of women being murdered but i will spare you the links)...
Monty Python would need to be protected in the way Salman Rushdie was...
Today, person draws a cartoon, or publishes a satirical magazine and we blame them for being murdered by Islamic literalists....
Je suis Charlie??

Hint - this might work very well in Afghanistan, where it's actually quite common for people to walk around wearing burqas, but here on the streets of Britain, a terrorist would have a far better chance of blending in with other people around them if they wore jeans and a t-shirt, tracksuit bottoms, or perhaps a George from Asda suit.

No, not at all. I found the rather large font-size at the top of the page particularly helpful in that regard. Here it is again, in case you somehow managed to overlook it up 'til now:

If you look closely, you'll notice your links all have one thing in common - they involve terrorist attacks that occurred in parts of the world where a burqa was worn by the attacker so that they would blend in with the many other people who would also have been wearing burqas in the close vicinity.
Hint - this might work very well in Afghanistan, where it's actually quite common for people to walk around wearing burqas, but here on the streets of Britain, a terrorist would have a far better chance of blending in with other people around them if they wore jeans and a t-shirt, tracksuit bottoms, or perhaps a George from Asda suit.

fI you look closely, you'll also notice that these are not 'burqa dominant' Islamic countries....over 30 countries that have banned the burqa were due to acts of terrorism...
Also other Islamic countries such as Nigeria, Libya, Israel etc are not 'burqua dominant' but have had suicide bombers...Particularly Nigeria which has a problem with Bokar Haram...
My post was a response to the remark that comparing someone in a burqa to a suicide bomber was stupid, so I provided a list refuting that...It took a few minutes..It was THAT easy..
Do you think that these stories are Islamophobic or 'fake' news, or do you think they actually happened? Do you refute the statistics regarding the acts of terrorism, murders and injuries?? If so, where is your evidence to the contrary??
I have worked in the UAE, the most tolerant Islamic nation in the Middle East, so i have first hand experience of living in an Islamic culture. I lived in a small village called Khor-Fakkan (which has now been developed)...
What is your personal experience of living in an Islamic Country?

Do I dispute the fact that this thread is entitled "Boris remarks about burkas", and not, as you seem to believe, "Is Islamic terrorism a genuine cause for concern?".

oh and BTW, who are 'they'?
Ultimately I don't believe in collective punishment. You apparently do.

I could be wrong, but all I keep reading is 'I don't like Muslims'
And I'd like to say once more that Boris's comments on this are just weazily opportunism. Not too extreme, just controversial enough to stir up the base. That man is a cluster-dick.

When acts of terrorism happen here they affect the rest of the world....Take for instance the 'Liquid Bombers'...This has affected the amount of liquids that can be taken on flights, or Richard Reid, the 'shoe bomber'...they happened here but have affected the rest of the world...The relevance is obvious.

It's all relevant to the UK because we live in a multicultural society...Things that happen in France, Russia, Pakistan, Sweden affect us, and vice versa...

You've avoided or ignored every question I've asked you and provided no evidence for any of your assertions. You seem to think that it's acceptable to make false allegations of me in the misguided belief that you are virtuous in doing so.
So, without using insults or avoidance, show me the quote, and perhaps show the contrary evidence or rebuttals to any of the points I've made or the statistics I've provided to which you disagree..

just show me the quote..You're wrongly accusing me of being Islamaphobic, and I'd like you to show me the quote...Unless you're lying or deliberately mischaracterising what I've said.

I say again before the usual lefty nonsense gets thrown in my direction...
I don't get Burkas, I don't understand why anyone would wear one. Pretty much how I feel about tattoos BTW.
Assuming that the woman is acting of her own free will, and that then this is absolutely no business of the state. I'll add that there are many situation in which I believe that these garments are innapropriate.

So you think that's it when I clearly said that was just from a quick google search with no effort put in to looking?
It makes me laugh when comparing a burka to a crash helmet as mentioned earlier in this thread. As a biker for 25 years I can tell everyone you cant go into shops or petrol stations without being asked to remove your crash helmet for security reasons. Try asking someone wearing a burka to remove it for the same reason.
