There should have been plenty of options regarding the penalties, Henderson didn't look one bit comfortable.
Maybe Vardy didn't want the responsibility/media consequences should he have missed.

You are of course right as there is no chance this team is capable of beating the likes of France or Brazil or even Croatia/Uruguay/Belgium with the way they have been playing and the way we have been playing.

We have struggled in every game other than when we played one of the worst teams in World football which everyone went crazy about when they really shouldn't have.

Every tournament is the same with England, watching them is painful and stressful and only ever an enjoyable experience when we play minnows and thrash them which counts for nothing.

When/IF! we ever produce a convincing performance against a top team then I will be impressed and want to see it repeated. Until we actually get a play maker in midfield then it won't happen because at the moment we have no play maker and therefore no creativity. Service to Kane/Rashford/Vardy is non existent and we rely pretty much on set pieces. We need someone in midfield who can thread the ball through defences and we currently have no one who can do that. Wilshere was probably the closest to having a player to do that and they left him at home which I think was a mistake.

The game against Sweden will be another dull and stressful game with few chances and will be unpleasant to watch. The Sweden/Switzerland game yesterday was as dull as dishwater and Saturday will be the same. I'd love to be wrong on that but after last night their performance would have to change dramatically and I can't see how that can happen with the same set of players.

Another thing unrelated to the England performance which is annoying me is the Clattenburg bits.
Doesn't matter a **** what you think, you're not the referee, and your opinion doesn't count.

Rant over.

Why wasn't Rashford brought on earlier, and maybe even instead of Vardy.
Bottom line is England went into meltdown and Columbia sensed it, and nearly turned them over.
They should have scored before they did, when they opened up the defence, but the guy put it in row Z instead of on target.

They also reacted to Columbia's tactics I think, when they should have concentrated on keeping the ball ad as you have already pointed out, run the clock down

And as for this story:

http://www.skysports.com/football/ne...rld-cup-defeat

he needs committing to a mental instute

They are the dirtiest team at this World Cup and his antics were a disgrace. Trying to blame us is laughable, the **** is off his head

I think he should watch a replay - stupid b@stard.
Their antics were terrible, and the coach should be ashamed of himself for his half time display

I'm not so sure for me it all depends as to whether Brazil can actually get out of 2nd gear as that's all they've played in so far. If they are stuck in that then yes Belgium will beat them. If they both go for it it will be one hell of a game of attacking football.

Uruguay France is a real difficult one, Uruguay have 2 of the best central defenders in the World so it's whether they can contain mbappe. If Suarez and Cavani are injured/play not 100% fit then Uruguay have had it anyway.

Without Cavani playing Uruguay never stood much of a chance but the French I think have played really well. Can't wait for tonight's match to see who they play in the Semis.
