Seeing as we're sharing Golfs, here's mine, it's running an SB engine out of a MK2 GTD and a 5 speed box, but it's a bit noisy at high rpm so doing a refresh on the one I pulled out of it originally which is also a MK2 td, with a few light mods I'm hoping to see around 120bhp when it's all done, not too woried about going really fast these days but it's a giggle with 800kg and around 100bhp and reasonable torque at the moment.

I love the Mk1 - I'm still after a Mk 1 1.8 GTI (preferably Y plate) in totally original condition - I'll find the right one one day, but I've looked at over 20 cars over the last couple of years and none of them has quite hit the mark.
I got the bug for building a Mk2 track toy from way too many visits to the 'Ring, so ended up building (or should I say completely rebuilding!) this. More carbon on it than I even want to add up, but they're an absolute blast to drive, whether 100 or 300 bhp
I can honestly say I've had more fun in this:
Than I ever had in this:

Yeah modern cars are nice and all that, but... they're just too good at what they do, way too clinical for me.
I'm 51 so I grew up driving old Fords, Austins, Triumphs, Fiats, Alfas and all the other things that were old and knackered at the time when the MK1 Golf was brand new
Obviously lusted after one in my youth as well as all the other cars that came with the 'Hot Hatch' revolution, so now I don't need an executive type vehicle to go across Europe or around the UK I can finally have a car I enjoy owning and driving... except now I have two.

Got this EP3 Civic Type R for track, spent a whole load of money on track bits (Brakes, LSD, Seats, etc) and now I'm not sure it'll remain given I've got the Fiesta ST below:

Bought this Volvo 940 Turbo because I'd always liked them, has done about 150 miles in 2+years.. complete waste of money/space, but I can't bring myself to sell it!!

Recently traded in my MK7 Golf R for this E92 M3 Competition Pack, 1 of 22 Competition Pack cars with a manual gearbox sold by BMW and I absolutely love it:

Just picked up this wee Fiesta ST Van to replace my trusty Transit Connect that I'd had for ~4 years, the Fiesta is running ~300bhp so it surprises people..

**Edit, looks like it's posted duplicates of the photos on my computer... and I've no idea how to rectify that?!

RS Grant - you've got too many toys
wrx300scooby - that Bug is lovely. I've had 11 in my time and still fancy another one - maybe an Oval with an STI engine in the back
