not strictly a subaru but it is made in a subaru factory with a subaru engine.
anyway this was being modified for totb but unlikely that will happen now so wheeled it out the garage for some extreme cleaning
and some new rear discs, before anyone says i know the rear calipers are brembos (off an sti hatch as it happens)but my ocd would let me have ap on front and brembo on the rear

Started a clean up on the wheels, arches and side skirts. Kaosone has got me started on painting parts black, though it will never be stealthy! Wheel nuts and exhaust bumper trim first, but not really mods I suppose
Only one wheel and one side skirt done today; there was alot of claying, decided I don't like Bilt Hamber clay. It needs to be kept in hot water at this time of year
I used Hycote etch primer & Hycote satin black paint (they sell it in The Range, I like it better than Halfords paint).
There’s no reason why it would flake provided the surface is prepared properly (sanding to make it abrasive, wiped over with a degreaser / solvent, primered then painted).
It may well scratch if I hit it with a ratchet, but there’s no reason it should scratch.
I painted my interior trim with Hycote gloss black over a year ago & that still looks fine (my thread in the project section is basically me painting bits black ).
Hi all , got some new bits from scoobyworld so got on with fitting them this weekend ,
cooling panel fitted, because it has a mishimoto alloy radiator i had to slightly modify it ,
and rear wing stiffies fitted ,
Before,
After,
Looking really good, how do get on with RCM return to sump set up ? I don't like mine much so im changing it to the coolant heated perrin job
Never had a problem in 6 years. Was told by my engine builder that when using on road to make sure the temps come up properly. Although mine only really comes out to play on track these days now :-)
Been trying to source a replacement bit of plastic to prevent the pipes rubbing on the header tank.
couldn't find it on subarus parts list but had some door edging trim left over.
Only fits perfectly.
Will cut the surplus once the engine is cold and it's kept its shape.

could you swap the tank for the later plastic revised part with smooth edges?
mines a 55 plate blob and mine has the plastic type
All JDM models retain a metal version which has a different part number to the original metal UK one.
The plastic tank arrived with the blobeye widetrack MY05
