My log cabin is 4.5 x 4.5m inside, and I get wifi signal in the whole cabin, plus also maybe 2.5m out on the decking (using a chromebook laptop). It's not a crazy strong signal, but it's not really much worse than the internet router in terms of distance.

That's bigger than some houses in the UK

update.

I've connect the main extender to the BT smart hub with the Ethernet cable.
paired the two additional extenders.
synced the Smart Hub settings to each extender.
ALL EXTENDERS FLASH AS THEY SHOULD DO WHILE USING THE RING MAIN.

move the extenders round the house - all flashing as per above/
move one to the external garage - all flash as per above... meaning I now have wifi in there which my Smart Hun never reached before.

BUT, move one to my summer house (which uses the same power from the garage) and it doesn't work.

any thought?

Have you got any surge protectors between the garage / summer house?

I don't mean normal RCDs, but rather the "electrical surge protectors" that protect equipment against eg lightning strikes etc?

Yea, as Henrik says, they don't like surge protected plugs/extensions.

No, its a armour cable spurred off the garage power up to the pond UV filter and pump etc.

The summer house comes off the same feed, and come in through a fused socket.

Hmm, my setup is very similar tbh...

what happens if you put one in the garage and one in the summer house? Does it link up then?
appreciate you won't get Internet out there that way, but could at least show if you can get a link across the cable

The one that shows ring main WiFi in the garage I've now tried in the summer house.. No WiFi
then tried it at the plug socket at my pond pump power plug... No WiFi.

Do I need one in the garage to boost signal up to the summer house?

I've just put two of the extenders in the garage to see if it can cover the garden better.

Hmm I don't think multiple devices boost the signal in the power cable so to speak (they're not repeaters, of that makes sense).

pond you say... does it have a continuously running pump by any chance?

Try turning it off and see what happens to the powerline adaptors (only temporarily, obviously )

I've just bought the tp link wireless extension adaptors (3 plugs in pack) and the missus is still struggling with reception in the office. Basically 1 is plugged into the router using the cable provided and the other 1 (which is in a room outside) is plugged into another room adjacent to the office and the last one is plugged in the office. Wifi lights are flashing on all 3 plugs as they should be but does anyone have any ideas on how to improve the signal ?. the outbuildings are wooden and not brick and their is a fuse box in the shed next to the office.
