Prestige..do you think it has gone?
Strange how the perceptions differ.
I don't essentially associate 'KAHN' branding to the chavness or deterioration in the prestige of the Range Rover vehicle.
Kahn Design is quite prestigious in itself. I think the currently perceived (by many as) a chav mobeel attempts to retain its classyness with the KAHN brand.

Then again, I don't belong to the history of petroheadism. This petrolheadism has also attained the chavvy status of late. Classy speed lovers don't like to be called petrolhead any more. Not the ones I have come to know, anyway. How times change, eh.
Well, I have. On the basis of them getting to design for some of the best car makers of the world, then. Such car makers must be bonkers. Also, I don't think the Kahn Design is most responsible to chav the classy motors up. It's the kind of people that are able to drive them these days get bigger credit for that.
As for who's responsible, that's really chicken and egg. Footballers couldn't buy tat from him if he didn't sell it. Though credit where it's due, I'm led to believe he's made a fortune out of selling said tasteless tat to footballers.
I could be wrong but I don't think any of the Khan Designs stuff is actually endorsed by the car manufacturers, so they aren't designing 'for the car makers' as such.

It's not a chicken-and-egg situation, it's quite clear cut. Footballers are responsible for their taste. I'm sure no one can stuff a MaccyD burger in your mouth if you don't want one. Tat sells because it's bought by some. There are less chavvy cars available, but they prefer to buy Kahn. So, they do have other choices out there, but they prefer Kahn. They own their choice, Kahn just caters for it. Fair enough it might be Kahn presenting chav material on the plate to all-n-sundry, but as I say, footballers can reject it, if they like. They're not obliged to buy it.
I just heard on the news that a circus show in America is stopping after nearly 150 years of its existence. That's happening because of the plummeted ticket sales thus the circus unable to meet the costs. See, buyer can reject the product. But it will keep selling if people keep buying.

Kahn appeals to those with too much cash. Kahn's additions for the RR's are Tat. It's expensive Tat, but Tat none the less. As said above, fair play to the bloke. He has found a niche in the market. Appeal to the rich and stupid.
I honestly think most people would see a Top of the range Range Rover Autobiography as a prestigious car. Smattered with Kahn sh1te would kill any sense of prestige out of the car in an instant.
Always fancied a Range Rover with the gun cabinet and a set of Purdey's along with the picnic basket all done out in walnut, shame they've gone to the dogs with the chav image over the last 10yrs or so.
Saw a bright pink one in Nottingham over the christmas holidays, says it all really.

Now that you mention it I think it was, saw one at one of the many gun/country fairs I used to go to back in my shooting days, Bloody gorgeous in green, fantastic quality of workmanship too, real feast to look at and appreciate every inch of.
