I went to the shop. The lad said it looks different as it much thicker than my key which to be fair it is. He cut it anyways as I asked him to.
So it goes into the lock but it won't turn? Plus I had to wiggle it in. I don't want to damage the lock. Should I return and see if they can do anything or just try to sand it down or something?
This is for a classic. Thanks

Do you have any idea on what grade to use? Just keep sanding and trying it?

There are a few suggestions already in this thread if you go back.
Some people cut the blade off the old key and turn it into a keyfob to go on the keyring. Some take out the transponder chip from the key and move that into another fob. Depends what alarm you have and what key you have to be honest.

No mate you won't see them on eBay now as I've bought them all
Not directly advertised anywhere don't see the need as they all sell before they even land
out of next ten I've took the cash for 6 allready @ £15 not including postage
Guy on eBay had enough of all messers and the odd dispute so he passed them all my way

Anyone else had problems using their keys after cutting? Timpsons just cut both of mine for £12 all in. Sorted.
I tried one in the ignition before it was cut and it slides in effortlessly, but now they are cut they still won't actually turn the ignition to start the car.
Very annoying. Grr.
I know on classics you sometimes need to sand the keys to get them to work, but not heard of this needing to be done on the Forester STI.
Humpf.

I had that with mine after cutting it looked abit rough so I asked them to smoothen it off with a file happy days it's probably a little jagid where they cut the key mate if they've messed your keys up I've got plenty more landing in a few weeks bro hope they haven't

Not buying another one and paying to have YET another flippin key cut for my car!!!! grr. Only tried one so far so will try the other and see if that's any better. Failing that I'll give them both a little file and sand.
If that doesn't work I'll break down and cry like a big girl. Humpf
That should do it!

I would suggest sending it to IB Jose he can stick it up his **** along with his head, maybe that will smooth things over?
Edit: you probably can't see this reply unless you hit the refresh button 100000000 times so my suggestion is of no use!

To be honest, I think looking at the newly cut keys, the "professional" at Timpsons has completely fkuced them both up for me.
I've just done an overlay from new key shape to old and they are horrifically different. Can't see them ever working.
Well that was £36 well spent then! Great!
