Nice one, no probs, they are decent value lights and offer regulated output (lenser t7/p7.2 do not) and also more modes, brighter too , yet a fraction of the cost.

still looks pretty good considering what it's been through over the years, skinned a good few rabbits and hares with it in my hunting days, been into knives for years but not bought any for a while. KRCT (or some thing like that) make some good value knives too, bought a tiny pocket one about a year ago which was the last time I bought a knife. Due a new one me thinks. 
Just clocked the Chris Reeve bit, yeah he makes a couple of sexy knives his survival slightly curved jobbie was one I really wanted but too rich for my taste, I went with the J.Adams 1999... 4240-99-127-821 real beast of a knife.

Having had a bit of a look on youtube I think I maybe want something that can flood but with a 50/80m throw, I'd like to be able to light up the field opposite me to see any deer or wild bore, think it might be a bit tricky to find them with a spot, so be nice if you guys could point me in the direction of something that will do the job, again don't really want to spend a fortune £30/50 max but I'd like it to be something that will last and again would be good if it used 18650's as I don't want to be spending extra on other batteries and a charger.

if you want a sh*t load of power go for a 2450 lumen Klarus G30 for a few quid more. It takes three 18650 batteries though. Great daylight beam.
The circa 3000 lumen Olight R50 Pro and Klarus G20 will rock your world for over 75 quid and run on Turbo for longer but they don't take 18650's. however, they are USB rechargeable.

Olight S2R Baton! UK ebay sellers may accept £50! Takes an 18650, waterproof, shockproof, usb charging, about 1200 lumens when tested, floody with a nice tint, torch ****. Manker E14 with extension tube also decent. Some good reviews on youtube.

but I'll see how I get on with what I've just ordered first.I do have a bit of a problem when things like this start getting upto and beyond the 50 quid mark, it's outside my comfort zone, then when you add a few bits and bobs next thing you know you've spent the best part of a 100 quid on a torch, I know you get what you pay for in this life which is why I've not gone for a £15 B&Q job, been there and they work for a year or so then become a paper weight or door stop, and they're bloody huge.
With what I've just spent on the Convoy S2+ and C8 $43 comes in at around the £35 mark for 2 torches and a couple of accessories I can justify that to myself especially with the dark nights coming in, S2+ can stay in the car with a clip and a pouch and the C8 will be in the house to get rid of the odd wild bore and deer at 4 in the morning when my dog is going crazy because they're in the field across from me, so there is method in my madness and as above I already have the Fenix E11 for my pocket torch, so hopefully it's going to be a few years before I get the torch bug again.

The furthest throwing stock LED light throws over a mile and only has 2000 Lumens. The Brightest flooder has 9500 lumens and only throws 400m. The thrower has around 1800 lumens in the hotspot whereas the flooder will have only a few hundred. 600,000 candela v 44,000.
Some people can vaguely work out the lumens using ceiling bounce, shining light at the roof and measuring the lux, then comparing results with other torches.
In the torch universe there is currently a Lumens race and Lux race. Very exciting.

Not sure what your trying to work out, is it the throw(cd).
A lot of lumen numbers are exaggerated, ansi or Out The Front lumens(what we see) are more use than LED lumens. The latter does not take into account of losses through the reflector/lens which can be up to 30% or so. So a 1000lm light can be 700 OTF lumens(ish as an example).
Also most over the counter are of a cool white, 6500k+ which washes colours out. Nichia make some easy on the eye tint/colour temps. The nichia 219B although not an LED that can be pushed hard(driven with high amps), has a cri rating of 90+(colour rendering index). In short the higher the cri(hi cri) the more accurate colours are, sunlight being 100 cri.
So for EDC(every day carry) i like a hi cri type for close up colours, just easier on tired night time(or day time) eyes. For work i use a nichia 219B triple(p60 drop in) in a stainless solar force host(empty flashlight).
Custom p60 drop ins(light engine, driver,led/s,reflector or optics)
the 2 mules(each side of the triple optic in centre) are great for close up use, like holding a light bulb and just floods with soft light ahead).
Good thing with the old surefire p60 system is variety, choose from many hosts and drop ins to suit your needs/wants from a light. Be it flood, throw or everything in between. Different drivers, tints, led's etc etc............
I have 2 stainless L2T hosts, the other is at home with a copper cryos bezel(excellent for heat dissipation)
I could bore you all day, night and the next day with my waffle, apologies

My addiction came overnight from watching people lighting up entire valleys on youtube.

Half the time I just enjoy the beam profile.
My dream Ven, is a 20,000 Lumen pop can flooder, 5000k.

On your advice I have just ordered my wife the Nightcore tip for Xmas..
She uses a torch to walk down the few steps to the drive in the morning when going to work rather than putting the outside lights on. Once she is on the drive a sensor light comes on anyway but it will help going down the steps....
Keep it secret though don't want to spoil the surprise. Looks nice and tidy for her keyring...

Would guess $1000-$1500 as the rc40vnT is $600. Quite a bit more time/work with the quad xpl HI's and 4x xhp70's(think they are about $20 each).
A beast of a light, tempted but.....bit too much to have tied up in a light I would not use that much.

Have you not got into p60's(drop ins) matt, kept my interest and many custom options. Also being generally 18650 size, good for actually taking with you without taking up room. Get some nice triples and quads, throw types etc.........Many hosts to choose(as per some of my surefires and solarforce hosts).
Also 26650 size too like the cooly from fivemega

On the subject of throwers.. I have an old Tiablo with an aspheric lens, nothing amazing by today's standards but way above what joe average has normally seen.
One new year I was driving out my estate and saw a Chinese lantern being released. I pulled over with my son and we spotted the lantern with the Tiablo up to quite a height with the thin beam of light. Could hear the people in their back garden all shouting about what the hell was going on
Great collection Ven! I also have a seiko skx love too! Solid bracelet and planet ocean bezel on mine. Best watch pound for pound IMO.

Thanks James, i have a good few more although i have thinned the heard quite a bit. As time goes on, you get accustomed to specific temps and cooler whites dont cut it(for me anyway). The copper PrinceCvn triple xpl HI 4000k with drivervn3 has been my house edc for the last week

For me I'm mainly blown away by insane lumens from a small package, that's why I love the TIP, S1R and pop can lights. Runtimes do suck but my use is primarily for showing off or occasional wow factor on dark walks.
I'm not right into knives or watches but C02 Pistols are fun!
