Dont know whats happened in past Matt, but usually you should get an email from USPS saying they have received note, then tracking after a day or 2 starts. Never ever had any issue, only odd time has been USPS themselves and its been around Europe. Normal postage 6-12 days, very rare 1 month(happened once in 40+ times)

I've not got the last 4 lights I ordered off him, but after saying I won't use him again, the X45 is too good to ignore. 28,000 turn on Lumens in a relatively small light!

I did want the X9 but Olight are taking forever, it'll be £500+ and it's as big as jumbo jet.

I just hope bearable run time is at least 50 secs.

That is a bad run, what went wrong? did you receive the email off USPS . How did you order, through shop or via email? Not used his shop yet, always been email with me. Hopefully better luck then, looks a real nice light but would guess 30-60s. I know the xhp70.2 seem a little more efficient, but 28k is going to get toasty quick!

Olight have been saying about the x7r and x9 for a while now............best to just weigh it up when (IF) it comes out.

Vinh cancelled two orders and didn't make the other two.

Hard to believe Vinh is getting 7,000 turn on lumens from one 70.2, can't wait to ceiling bounce test it.

I suppose that means the X9vn will be 43,000 turn on lumens! that may hold until ANSI with the fan!

Can't believe just how heavy the copper light is, Ven have you seen that LUX-RC minion? 2,500 Lumens in a half thumb sized torch!

Where did you get the one on the left from? That's actually quite a nice looking bit of kit in copper.

Cheers Neil , it's a copper cryos head on a stainless solarforce L2T. Engine is a triple nichia 219b which is a 4 mode p60. Oveready and cryos illumination have the cu bezels in, solarforce host can be bought from them direct.

Yes pretty cool , but small and stainless and apparently 2500lm will be hand burning hot in seconds. Don't know how they get 250lm for 2hrs off a typical 600mah cell.... Also to give out 6a, it's short lived on the little 18350 cells. That aside, I do like them and would be a very nice key chain light.

Ah so it's a custom build? Have to say i hadn't realised torches mods were so serious untill i read this thread (on the subject of which, that heatsink looks suspiciously like a milled out nitro r/c cylinder head).

There is a massive world out there for flashlights Neil, crazy custom 1 of's to mass produced . Military like surefire and HDS, malkoff and elzetta. Good chinese brands like fenix, nitecore, olight and acebeam(to name just a few). Then you have different LED's, different colour temps(CT) etc etc and of course different user interface(UI). Programmable, rotary/infinite control, side and rear switch along with twisty types. Then materials, cu, ti, al along with exotic mokune gane and many more.

Lumens are great and i do enjoy them, however i like hi cri, nice CT's of 4000-5000k(neutral). Cooler 5500+ are ok, but once you get over 6000k your kind of washing colours out.
A good friend of mine in Singapore called Jon, he has a few jeff hanko lights(he has *beep* loads of custom lights...............god knows the total but well over $100K worth.

Here is some hanko lights, clips alone are $200+ each, these exotics are $2000+ each and works of art. Well above my pay grade, but still nice to look at.

Yes , will add some time but it will be worth the wait. Better to be right than chance it ,could fail down the road. Guess it won't ad more than a week or two...

Had to scratch the itch and see what its about. Hope it doesn't become another collecting obsession.lol Thought it was a bit rubbish to start with but bearing wasn't flush.Sorted now

Pretty sure it will be one of the ones needing to be sent back

It does seem to have a yellow hotspot purple spill like the stock ones.

All seemed fine but then it stuck in turbo mode, wouldn't even turn off, then changed from mode group 11 to 3, sometimes doesn't turn on, very dangerous torch.

6 torches on a row now from Vinh, not bothering again.

Sorry to hear, bummer.................it has to be one already mailed before the call back to have arrived so quick. Defo a return unfortunately, if it would have been fine then it would not have been worth sending back as the issue is hit/miss.

I would wait for the 5000k anyway, for a floody light you dont want close up washed out.

I think the 5000k will look crap due to the very purple spill.

The 5000k xhp70's are quite nice(cant see the 70.2 being any worse). I can only presume it was either poor LED's or to do with the lens/coating to change the tint. From the factory you get what your given, modders tend to match the vf and if tint off, swap out for better.

Still no experience with that light and 5000k 70.2's, will see what others end up saying about them when they come in.

All the vids on YouTube show blue spill yellow beam on 6500k and 5000k, and the beamshots posted on the X45vn thread so far show the same, I think it's the metal in the reflector tbh. I see blue reflecting off my DT70 refector but not enough to create a discernible tint shift. The petal effect on the X45 is brutal too, looks like a chainsaw not flower.

Tbh both have *****ng ugly beam artifacts

Brutal petals.............like it!(not literally). Pretty much any multi reflector light has some form of petals, how pronounced of course depends on width/depth.
The x65vn 5000k has "brutal" petals

But the 5000k xhp35 HI's are a real nice colour temp/tint.

My NW TN36ut doesn't have very noticeable petals but it has a god damn awful donut hole. One day I'll get a perfick flooder! I'd love a beam spread and tint like the Nitecore Tip CRI but only with 50,000+ lumens.

Shaving the domes on the 36UT will get rid of the holes, kind of hard to escape with the quad die's and the dome.

The MTG2 is a nice 5000k and a floody LED, gives around 3000-3500lm per LED. Large die, flood biased.

Think I just want a refund now

Surely this shorter inferior spring is very dangerous, I bet it's why the torch kept tripping and getting red hot straight away even on lower levels. It wasn't long enough to make one of the batteries make a connection and it looks steel.

Looks to have possibly shorted and melted the spring or caused it to warp with the heat. Defo dont use an return, yours was in the mail during the re-call.

I would return, new drivers will be due in over the next week and wait for testing. Once he is happy and fully tested, then try out an x45vn. There is always a small risk with new lights anyway, more so with higher output versions. It does pay to wait , also improvements seem to follow within a month or so after release. Either way it will be sorted for you, he looks after customers. Hope all sorted quick for you.

If me, i would return and just wait a couple of weeks, it will be worth it and you will have a crazy 25k light! However, it will only be able to kick that output out for 1 run on fresh cells. Its more for bragging rights than anything. Still lower modes for practicality, and a big grin mode for short use.

I measured 20,400 lumens at 4.10v and earlier 19,800 at 4.05v

I'm done with Vinh now, I don't trust him or his work. I had to ask him twice for shipping.

The DT70 looked far more impressive last night, more throw, more light in the field of vision, better tint, less tint shift, better heat management. £130 with £50 of batteries inc! Basically around 14,000 lumens for £80!

Got the Noctigon today, a genuine 7000 Nichia Lumens, the beam and spill is flawless, it makes all my other torches beams look dirty, it looks like pure sunlight, the rest look purple, green or beige.
