Sorry felt the need to add something else.

Anything can be a weapon, a rolled up newspaper makes for a pretty decent weapon if you now how to do it.

Knives are tools, hammers and axes are tools, but they make a pretty decent weapon too... oh I have a massive tool collection too... I'm a danger to jobs everywhere if I get into a situation where I see a job that needs doing... I might whip my tools out and do it.

Seriously mate... don't get sucked in by the 'HYPE' there are those in this world that would reduce all our freedoms and put us in chains "For our own good" don't help them too much.

No worries I could talk about it till the cows come home and don't mind sharing my experiences (though for some reason there are those that struggle to believe some of them)

My Golfs aren't anything special, but there is still quite a few of them over here, though they are starting to die out now, I struggle to get excited about new cars so when I sold the wagon it had to be something interesting and that I could do all the work myself on as I don't have the cash to be paying folks because I'm at the expensive end of this development, floors kitchens, bathrooms.

Priorities 1st ditchy, my subaru is a work and school run chariot and that is it. Held back from mods so far pretty well, as i have always gone down that path previously. Never happy, always wanting more which in turn means more ££££........

Still its kept me content for over 2yrs now, cheap to run compared to previous chariots.

Yeah I was never really into modding, so not really a problem for me... although I do tend to 'Up rate' when something is required... it's expensive enough just fixing them never mind fixing what isn't broke.

It's funny how priorities change as you get older, I used to love the thrill of speed... but these days I enjoy just cruising and taking it all in... go figure.

My next toy will be a boat, probably sell my Type R to help fund it in a couple or 3yrs.

Power boats are cool, but they're a bit of a one trick pony... that said still always look at them and fancy one.

But I'd want something a bit smaller and faster for the sea out here, kind of a best of both worlds... but I'll have to wait and see what pops up when the time comes, to be fair anything that can hold a couple of small lobster pots will do, as that will be it's main purpose... to get me out fishing for some nice grub.

The imalant is trash, avoid matt at all costs. Poor quality control, poor customer service..............

Check out acebeams x45 if you want something better quality............little cheaper to!

The ec50 II is decent light, 26650 fuel is a nice in hand size. Watch the heat on turbo, just keep in hand and knock does when getting toasty as it dies not step down iirc.

DQG are OK, they are kind of a dear budget light with hit/miss QC. I have a few of their tiny 10180 lights, spy titanium and brass fairy.

One you have is small/compact with decent output. Just treat it with care and clean/lube threads as they are not the best(fine not square cut).

Enjoy!! I have a couple of quads on route, one from mtn electronics in the US and one from Edinburgh. Modded to 4x 219bt 4000k with gupy driver. Also sent him my little novatac 120e, been ano stripped and a 219b chucked in it. Upped from 110lm(10+yr old light so have to be lenient)to over 300lm(pretty impressive and usable). Will post some pics when i get it, looks nice

I wanted a 22650 edc light but the Klarus was too cool and over-rated lumen wise, the R50 Pro too throwy and the Fenix PD40R but I can't remember why I didn't like it. Acebeam isn't quite 3000 lumens (2500ish) but it's got an epic tint.

Imalent advertise a 3800 lumen one, but no lumen tests on it as yet, They seem to massively over exaggerate lumens.

My DQG 22650 has arrived, the 4500k tint is gorgeous, my first nw torch! Stupidly bright and absolutely tiny, half inch shorter than my S2R. That has 1500 Lumens less!!!

What's the difference between 219c and 219b?

Other than the actual colour temp differences, tint differences the 219c can be driven harder than the 219b. The 219b is usually 90+cri(92+ the norm). 219c is 80+ with 5000k.

Now you can get 219c 4000k and 5700k, former i have in the sportac triple, latter i have in a kaidomain p60. Its a bit too cool for me, prefer a more neutral temp.

If you like a neutral , the 219c 5000k is very nice. For a little on the warmer side, the 219b 4500k and 4000k are very nice. Really you need both to try.

You will find the nichia 219b a lot easier on the eye, colours a lot better over say a cold white xm-l2.

Good little light, obviously only really good at closer ranges but for a small flood it's pretty good.
I much prefer using my ea41 pioneer, good spill with a bit of throw, but it's the modes I find very useful.
Got me some cob light from homebase, only a tenner but it's 400lm and a cracking little light for those odd jobs, thanks to it's magnetic base.

I'll have to try it for macro photography, I know many use cob lights for the even light they cast.

Mules work really well hux for that, basically just the LED and no reflector

This has the nichia 219b 4500k hi cri(usually 92+) in, only 300lm but its is OTF measured(not LED which is higher). Very bright...............floods a room with ease.


From left, triple quad which is all flood, around 5000 OTF lumens of. Then the little m43vn which kicks out 11,000lm of flood with some punch with a huge hot spot. The 2 smaller lights in front of the rc40vn, left is a quad mule e14vn(4 different nichia and xpl HI led's of 4000-5000k for a very nice wall of light) and the other is 4x nichia 219c 5000k and 2500lm


I like flood! just so useful for work and working at home on stuff.

I'm surprised my DQG 22650 is brighter on turbo than the TN36UT is on high. A real powerhouse and cheap as chips.

Got my little novatac 120e( old light before the HDS), LED swap to nichia 219bt 4000k. Same UI/driver and from 100lm kicks out an amazing.................310lm! However the low now of 26lm of hi cri goodness is super useful for close up night adapted eyes.

Today my DT70 came, it is seriously bright, my tests do hint at it's Lumens claims for all levels, then some, but the lux drop pretty quickly after a few seconds, that'll be the heat, if ansi is measured in a cold environment then 16000 lumens is deffo.

My Lumintop Torpedo 007 keychain light came yesterday, not sure it's as bright as the reviewers are getting online but it's bright.

UI is garbage though, doesn't always go through the modes and sometimes doesn't even turn on. Seems to hate it when batteries get under 3.7v

Problem for me Matt(yep it will happen to you at some point where beam/colour temp comes before sheer output), i struggle with cool whites. Washed out colours that look ghostly etc. Like at night(presume) when you flick your lights on, maybe 3000k temp which looks warm. Imagine 6500k+ of cold light washing everything out looking like a surgery room.

So for smaller light especially , i prefer 4000-5000k for colours being a more close up type of use. Throwers it does not matter as much, but flood/closer uses a nice colour temp makes everything look real and nice on the eye.

Its amazing how much difference it does make, especially on tired eyes.......

Try a Lumintop TOOL out if you can, AAA light so fine for keys or EDC and go for the 219bt option. Yes "only" 80lm but at night its more than enough for car key light application's. Like many of my quads, 2500+lm on tap, yet a few 100 lumens is enough for pretty much any use. I like my high output throw/flood lights because they are fun and useful tools. But i also like useful beams, nice colour temp/tints...............seeing colour how they should be.

Although cool, the cooyoo quantum make great key chain lights, available in ti/cu and stainless. Built in USB for the little 10180 4.2v cell, low of 15lm and high of 100(ish)lumen , yet 1/2 the size of an AAA battery inside.

A good way of experimenting is the p60 format, get a nice host and try some custom p60's, different nichia's/colour temps.
xpl HI 4000k/4500k/5000k are nice high output LED's
Nichia 219b 4000/4500k and 219c 4000k and 5000k are all nice options(hi cri).
The 219bt in the TOOL's are very nice, same as the quad i have just had done. Honestly cool white are just horrible compared.........

My DQG is nw 4500k and my TN36UT is also nw, I wasn't bothered about the 10-20% loss on those, my CRI Nitecore Tip has 220 Lumens but it's too damn dull for outside use, the Imalent DT70 has shaved XHP70's so has a gorgeous nw tint. Tbh none of my lights seem excessively cw (except the 360 lumen Tip) even my TN40vn has a couple of 5000k LEDs in it making it far warmer than the stock TN40.

Good stuff Matt, so you appreciate a nice colour temp over the cooler side.

A lot depends on how your eyes are adapted or not, even 20lm can appear very bright and painful when pitch black. Then out for a walk, 2000lm can get eaten up quick in open areas.

As much as i like big lights, its the smaller ones i find with me or grabbed for ease. The p60/hosts are a little similar to a typical 18650 light in length(if not shorter than some), yet 3000lm is possible. So easy to pocket, yet similar to the eye output of a tn36 on high mode.
