So Brexit seems to be a good thing then.

It has not helped me at all as I now need to pay 3 times as much to send anything home and also have to pay import duty on everything I buy from the UK. So much for free trade agreement.

Not been to BHX a lot then...they've been arrival queues up and past the gates before Brexit happened...normally when a double decker airbus arrives or a flight from the likes of Yemen (before the war started) and they had two security staff at passport (before the auto gates were installed, half of which malfunction anyway).
Departures, have been shyte since the liquid bomb scare and at times queued up outside: https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/new...rport-11274398
They nearly caused a a crush/stampede once in the baggage hall when I was there because some uniformed idiot blocked the baggage hall/customs exit, but didn't tell any other staff to stop people from entering the hall from passport control. Suddenly hall was rammed with thousands of people, panic ensued as we were quite literally getting squashed together (had to jump on carousels for room).
Parking drop off a pure cash grab by NCP, thanks to a muslamic ram raider with a gas bottle giving NCP the perfect excuse to extort (nothing stopping them wheeling in a few trolleys of suitcase bombs though).
Can't say its improved since Brexit, but that's no surprise.

To be honest I just find British airports are generally shyte regardless. They can't even make working urinals...so I suppose they really don't take the p1ss from travellers. (waterless urinal waste pipes block due to calcium deposits ).
In the news today. Quelle surprise; https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-65731795
Not helped when my cheap and nasty passport (Dark red btw) isn't laminated upto the staples on the photo page, so if I slide it under a E-gate passport reader it folds/creases and becomes unreadable requiring me to flatten it back out before it can be read, by which time the gate has borked and directed me to go into the manual queue. Expires next year so hopefully the replacement is better quality.

Another ill thought out decision overturned.
As if manufacturers were ever going to go to the huge expense of an additional UK certification process just to sell to a few people on a little island!

The idea of having to conform to two sets of certification standards which are likely to diverge over time, instead of a single unified standard is just lunacy! Brexit was sold on the principle of cutting red tape, but in reality only adds more paperwork and complexity ergo more costs for UK companies.
Hopefully UK companies will also be able to just certify to CE, otherwise it just creates an unlevel playing field to the deficit of UK companies which will still need to certify against both standards!

Do you know if UK manufacturers will still have to conform to UKCA or does this only affect imports?

That would be the most sensible way, although with this lot in charge, sensible isn't a given!

The Brexit reversal has started. Finally the government is acknowledging how damaging Brexit was for the UK!

Shame they couldn't have brought this in before the Brexit vote as they promised!

So when they told you they want to "Take back control" of our borders, you all thought they meant they wanted to reduce immigration, but actually they wanted to increase immigration!
