The good thing with wired headphones/buds is that it makes then harder to lose, especially when doing any sporting activities or even just simply commuting. But you know what, people will just accept it and move on, they did the same with the lighting connector, cd drives, usb ports etc. Still I think I'll stick with my iPhone 6, the 7 just isn't enough of a leap to ditch my 2 year old phone, same screen, same battery life, same size, camera is better but not enough to fork out my hard earned for it and of course no headphone socket.

Seriously, you needed two separate threads on this?

Edit:
Nice work mods, I can see the threads have now been merged

As I'm sure plenty of people will tell you Bluetooth headphones are nothing new, people have been losing them for years and more expensive ones too. The Apple Airbuds are just better.

3+ days of charge lmfao. Leaving your phone on the bedside table with no usage does not count.

dont worry Jack, there will be an update for it

It does bring up a good point. The A10 fusion chip, not only the most powerful smartphone chip ever, but also has a spare 2 high efficiency cores to save battery and lets not forget 50% faster graphics. It's just marketing bollocks though.

A10 isn't the most powerful chip, the snap dragon 821 is. Which is used on the Asus Zenfone 3.

Apple hasn't had any "innovations" for years, I don't see the fascination with Iphones to be honest.

Apple products don't support aptX so you can't have any high quality wireless audio anyway, what's the point in £160 headphones that have **** poor battery life and can't be HQ ?

As long as they can keep making mugs of people they can keep doing things like this, not for a consumer benefit of course.

Looks like apple may have got a bit carried away Jack.

Post back here in a few weeks and see how many are moving away from the restricted choking environment that is apple.

Nobody has made any real "innovations" in years, it's not just Apple (but the Fandroid nutters don't want you to know that).

Marketing... it's all they do.
Bluetooth will have poor frequency response too, plus terrible battery impact

But hey 150 quid a pop for each set sold to fanboys.

Samsung have curved oled screens for quite a bit. Edge to edge ones. Not lcd displays in picture frames on current iphones.

Plus wireless charging/ fast charging

Plus over 3 days usage on a single charge.

All things mentioned in the next iphone incidentally.

Apple fanboys.. blinded from reality as usual.

What about Samsung bluetooth headphones, no way Samsung would just make them to milk their customers, surely not. And what about all the Android devices without headphone sockets, I don't see you kicking off about them and you own one!

The Airbuds support high-quality AAC audio which is pretty good I hear.

**** poor battery life, 5 hours, 24 with the case, what are you doing that you need over 5 hours continuous, dare I say you're a fringe case.

And it's definitely the most powerful smartphone chip ever made, nothing is even close.

Whatever you say Jack.

There is absolutely nothing new or exciting in the iphone 7. The last thread i see got closed. A losing battle here.

Apple had a chance to revive themselves but ultimately greed got in the way.

Plus wireless charging/ fast charging Yeah my electric toothbrush had that before it ever appeared on a phone...

Plus over 3 days usage on a single charge. That's just not real, I've never seen a smartphone that'll do 3 days of actual usage on one charge.

Apple fanboys.. blinded from reality as usual. You must've missed the post earlier where i listed the features my HTC has that have just appeared on the iphone. Clearly blinded by your fandroid rage. Guess that extra screen resolution isn't so good for you after all.

What a twisted mind you have.

"nothing new or exciting" the exciting I get, not everyone likes the same things - I'm pretty excited for a Nintendo game - but when you say there's nothing new then I know you're only looking at the surface and that's a shame. There are a lot of new things all neatly listed by Apple if you cared to look, but you won't because you'd rather waste your time trying to **** on a bonfire. Crack on.

AAC is just the compression codec for the music itself, it has nothing to do with transferring the data from the player to the headphones.

This is down to the quality of the Bluetooth connection between them, which is pants in apples case. I know that Samsung and Sony support aptX, I'm sure many other do too.

https://www.aptx.com/

I'm not sure who or what has brainwashed you about all of this, but you need to do your homework before making claims about the most powerful mobile chip. (Of which the A10 Fusion is not) It IS the most powerful chip that Apple has ever made mind you, which is probably what you're thinking of.

You're victim of a current misconception. You don't need aptX.

Apple say The most powerful, I doubt they threw that out there for giggles. Are you sure your whatever it is is a smartphone chip?

This might help.

"Still, though, I think it's important that we recognize that while Bluetooth as commonly implemented now does degrade audio quality, it doesn't have to. It's up to the phone manufacturers, primarily, to implement Bluetooth in a way that impacts audio quality the least -- or preferably, not at all. And of course, when you consider that subtle differences among audio codecs can be hard to hear even on a really good system, in most situations Bluetooth will not have a significant impact on the sound quality of an audio device."

The thing that annoys me are the storage options. Last time they didnt offer 32gb now its no 64gb so a stupid gap in sizes no doubt deliberate to make you spend more.

Rent storage or buy it, up to you. I should add that I think 16gb is ridiculous.

Any of the ground breaking features in the iPhone 7, (the one with no headphone socket) are absolutely nothing to anyone who has used any recent Android phone.

new emoticons (that bring up emoticons depending on what you write), dual camera, water proof , selective photos to emphasise a near distant or far distant image, (dont forget the software update to get this Jack on the iPhone 7)...Zzzzzzzzz

Oh, I forgot stereo speakers, already discussed here by the other chap. The same type out on old HTC phones so yeah?

All that (and more) is on my current Note (already shoving on a bit at this stage), plus I have a vastly superlative display (edge to edge, what apple want next you know) and I am not shoehorned into the Apple empire. I have wireless charging built in plus I can go for days without needing a recharge, and when I do need to charge up I can get 50-60% charge in about half an hour. I can also use normal headphones also and upload any number of tunes without using or paying for iTunes.

Apple flog off over priced tat and the article posted here by Mike Daisey hits it on the head.

https://www.theguardian.com/commenti...es-controversy

I would expect sales to plummet even worse than what they already have done in 2016 and you know what Jack? Apple deserve every loss they get for being the greedy manipulating corporation that they are.

early days yet, will be fun checking up on developments on the latest disaster Iphone.

Apple will have one soon, dont worry.

Plus wireless charging/ fast charging Yeah my electric toothbrush had that before it ever appeared on a phone...

Apples (pardon the pun) and oranges. Both have different power requirements, can you charge a galaxy on a toothbrush stand?

Plus over 3 days usage on a single charge. That's just not real, I've never seen a smartphone that'll do 3 days of actual usage on one charge.

You never seen a Galaxy Note 5/7 or S7 then i guess, and this is without power saving turned on (plus using wifi every day) That would give over a day more usage.

Benchmarks on this new A10 processor, the most powerful ever in the planet. Both using GeekBench for consistency.

You and I must have different definitions of "single charge". Either that or I need to find out when HTC are releasing the update that causes the battery level to increase if it's own accord.

your firmware version could impact battery also, this is what my phone uses. If I turned off WiFi I and turned on power saving I could get well into 3 days from a full charge.
