Would you go jdm or uk sti?
haha...id love to have a go in a jdm mate as ive heard there miles better...ive only drove my uk blob sti and it drives ok with plenty of power if needed but ive heard the jdm is better from research...im just curious as is it that much better at that power thats all
Reason being is the UK blob widetrack STi is a very good car and I cant see the difference between the JDM/UK that much it makes one better then the other, all other generations I can see the appeal of the JDM, especially the hawkeye onwards as the 2litre twin scroll is worlds apart from the 2.5litre single scroll you get in the UK cars, plus cheaper road tax etc etc.
Maybe someone will come along and tell me otherwise, but im just going from the 14 years Ive owned Impreza's and the 10 JDM/UK cars ive owned, I can see the appeal of the JDM, but the only one model I think the UK car is as good is the UK widetrack STi!!!
Id choose a JDM STi over a UK STi in any generation model Impreza, but the one where Im on the fence with is the UK blob Widetrack Sti.

Lightly modded uk wrx ppp every time, way better road car, newage sti's are crap on the road and on the track full stop which is why the owners change almost everything about them,
only ones to have are Spec C's otherwise it's Classic jdm.

Good to see you back in full-on troll mode!
they don't work well on an STI so why would I put them on my WRX,
I don't stick cheap crap on either which are both areas where people go wrong when modding by either fitting parts that weren't designed to go onto the WRX or parts that have had zero R&D go into them.Well my cambelt is 2yrs and 6.5k out of date and I've just driven it 1150 miles across Europe last weekend in one hit, so I think my 'theory' holds some water.
I tend to listen to people that know what they are talking about and then make my decision based on that and my own experience, never been much of a crowd follower.

Cool. Well, you just carry on driving around with a worn / aged cambelt and tensioners / idlers, I'm sure you know considerably more than Subaru themselves lol.

Is this the car you plan on selling soon ?

jdm is my choice. I had a uk blobeye sti and now a jdm hawk and for a road car the jdm is the best choice in my opinion. I just need a remap and then i will be happy as the car is pretty much standard, blob was 430ish.
but those that don't know allow themselves to be mugged off for them and generally a water pump too, so what should be a 100 quid job turns into a £350/500 quid job. Could all you knowledgeable people explain to me how a belt and tensioners / pullys that are perfectly fine at 59999 miles suddenly become no good after that extra 1 mile
or a belt that doesn't have a use by date on it and could have sat on a shelf for 5yrs before it was fitted suddenly needs to be changed when it's been on a car 5yrs and a day.
Fortunately the previous owner fell for this money making scam at 58k so pullys should be good until at least 180k.
but sorry no dibbs first to turn up with the money gets em.
JDM, no hesitation ! My standard blob WRX PPP averaged 20-25 mpg, mostly town driving. My current JDM STI running 350bhp averages 23mpg on the same roads... and it doesn't have a very good map at the moment! 100 more bhp and same economy, no brainer really
everything is better with JDM
everything is better with JDM

As is always the case on here people fail to realize the reality, which is FYI and the resident idiot peediddy, tensioners and idlers are inspection only @ 60k miles

The belt sat on the shelf isn't under any stress is it ??
Same goes for pulleys and tensioners, you do understand the concept of wear right ?
I'd be very jealous of that car and I've just bought a JDM STI! But I was after a specific colour so not too upset
