Be nice if everyone would start referring to the acts as 'acts of cowardice' as opposed to 'terror'.

The loons seem to love being labelled as 'terrorists'.Makes them feel it adds a bit of je ne sais quois to running over and killing women and children in a lorry.

Yeah, what we need here are stricter entrance requirements for IS and Al Qeada. They seem to be taking on just anybody lately.

I'm sure most of the people reading here understand as well as I do why you're asking the question. If it bothers you, why don't you start a thread here and keep it updated with every new atrocity that happens in Iraq or Afghanistan or the wider Middle East, or start petitioning the people who broadcast the news to stop biasing their coverage so heavily towards stuff that directly affects the bulk of their viewers?

ISIS have claimed it now.

But that doesn't actually mean they really were directly involved as they tend to claim anything they would like to have had a hand in.

I still put a lot of the blame for this on Bush/Blair. Iraq was like kicking a hornet's nest. Just like me going down to Smithy Fen with a bunch of mates and slapping about a few of the pikeys. Bad idea, because the pikeys won't let it go and don't know when to stop. Not unlike radical Islamists, they really bear a grudge.

What would you do if the pikeys had an army/gang that was planning to come to your street and steal and rape etc .

I think the problem is David we seem to have created a world where little makes sense anymore

and there is simply not enough "sorrow" to go round, and most people are hopelessly confused

the below short 5 min film by BBC documentary film maker Adam Curtis puts things in context

Except Sadam wasn't actually going to cause any real trouble. Your nice lil analogy also ignores the fact that "the pikeys" we're suppressing a far nastier group.

Thing is it all makes perfect sense as long as you've accepted the fact the world is actually a pretty nasty place.

We'll surely then you have to accept that people (or at least a significant proportion) are inherently evil/nasty - which I don't believe is the case

Fair comment and my anger was not really directed at you but you have my apologies. But it does bother me and my anger is a mix of my views on the media plus an overall frustration that tells me there is no end in sight. I happen to listen to Radio 5 quite a lot but after the truck killing they spent the whole day trying to "analyse" the reasons behind it all with intrusive interviews etc etc. But within an hour of the deaths it was clear what had happened - an ISIS brain washed moron who was told be would be screwing 100 virgins when he lost his life and would be a hero if he killed as many as he could and using a truck with a back-up handful of automatics would be an easy way to do this. You don't need much more analysis than this really aside from some sensible comment about how the West might prevent this.

When Blair massaged the vote in the UK there were a lot of people that felt Saddam might be holding some WMD or have access to hidden stocks. Yes he did jump the gun and may be he wanted to do a Maggie/Falklands thing but there was a strong case to say that we couldn't risk it. The real problems began after Saddam was taken out with zero post-Saddam strategy, mostly Bush but later Obama and the exiled Irag government who took the money and ran. And a naïve assumption by the West that democracy would work.

Time and again you will hear stories from world travellers recording the extraordinary kindness and generosity shown by ordinary citizens in far flung places. I think this is the default until it is corrupted my officialdom and money, it's all down hill after that.

For serious gov't corruption which I have seen in country in West Africa I would clamp down very, very hard on the banks. When it was established that a bank had transferred money to an individual to a "safe haven" I would close the bank down, every branch worldwide. No excuses, no big fines just lock the doors. That would stop a lot of corruption. And bring London house prices down

Interesting that theists and atheists agree on this point.

Whilst watching I thought of you and your posts and suspected that you'd feel partially vindicated and pleased to have a mind like Chomsky's on the same page as yours. Did you enjoy it?

I think we may have just facilitated extra money to go to zim regime ( via imf ) ,when we allowed their minister to come here pleading . So isn't he banned from travel here? . Meantime the place is falling apart through trade sanctions and mismanagement/corruption , the average person is pleading for no more loans

Does anyone know what the wests plan of action is regarding these attacks ?

Is it accepted that the invasion of europe that is ongoing is making it more likely the amount of those bad people is increasing ?

Could the immagrants that are flooding europe partly be terrorists getting into place ready to do terrable things .

If we pray and show muslims we love them will that help ?is that the answer . If not what is

Is it a good idea to start kicking people out the country?

Is there anybody doing anything about it?

Is it wrong to feel angry about those muslims and to want them all as far away as possable from my country . **** pc bull**** just get them all away to **** thats what i say

Or will we all just pray and hug a muslim

Probably right after we get serious about stopping them coming here.

Hopefully im wrong but it seems we will be fine as long as we stay pc about their backward ideas and basically let them get a foothold on our country.
If we start making it difficult for them coming and staying here in their thousands then they will make us suffer.
So my prediction is the **** will really hit the fan when its to late to do much about it

He was a French citizen, so no invasion was required

I am sure there are some, can you point to any "invading" terrorists Gary

It seems the vast vast majority are committed by "homegrown" terrorists

His name was mohamed he wasnt french he was tunisian but had a 10 year rediency after marrying a french woman .

If i had my way all people like that would be removed from the country. In fact just having the name mohamed should be enough . Scary thing is me saying that is probably good enough reason for me to be killed in their opinion

And are you asking if i know any terrorists ?i guess tou mean in history

Hunted down and made to wear clown outfits would be more fitting, IMO.
