Next Prime Minister
Well a large amount of his vote came from Tories who joined the Labour Party to get him in and make Labour unelectable, so the answer's yes, but not intentionally (on his part).
It makes me laugh when I see all these earnest Momentum lefties saying how popular he is amongst the members, blissfully unaware of exactly why that is.
The daft thing is, I get the impression he's actually a nice chap, albeit in my opinion wholly misguided.

If the anti-semitism is true, you're quite right. I've never understood why Jewish people have been the whipping boys of society all down the ages, even in this country.
If the Bible is anything to go by, doing God's work often ends with an unfortunate outcome. Presumably being one of God's chosen people is equally hazardous.

Of course, Paul Mason; a career journalist and ex music teacher is qualified to dictate to you on the economy
People need to look at who writes this stuff and question: Do they know any better?
The answer here is...probably not!
You are better off listening to pension advice from a Resorts Group salesman.

can you summarize what Paul Masons point(s) actually is?
Come ON hodgy, you are grasping at weeds now, never mind straws.
Would you take advice on the economy from some guy in the street? No? Thought not LOL.

Nope, I object to being preached at by someone with no qualifications in the subject that he is preaching. Simple really.
If I wanted to know the state of my local steelworks, I'd go and ask a couple of the managers, or the engineers. I WOULDN'T ask someone who works in the local crisp factory.
Horses for courses, I'd have said.
Still, you can believe he doesn't have an axe to grind if that makes you happy.....LOL

From Wiki':
Mason won the Wincott Prize for Business Journalism in 2003,[12] the Workworld Broadcaster of the Year in 2004,[4] and the Diageo African Business Reporting Award in 2007. His report on the social movements behind Bolivian president Evo Morales was cited when Newsnight was awarded the Orwell Prize (2007).
He's been a business editor for fifteen years, has written a number of books and has been involved in politics since a student. What exactly would qualify him in the eyes of you (a career moaner) and Ali (a grease monkey)?

I'd put your popcorn away, Mr H, because the reality is neither Jeff nor Ali read the piece and if they had neither possesses the cognitive dexterity to critique the piece with any efficacy. The best we can hope for is more tedious and ill-considered bovine excrement from Jeff and conspicuous absence from our illustrious moderator.
well she was useless in the home office (couldn't get rid of hamza) used the eu as the reason and human rights, what on earth makes you think she will be any better as pm,

The ECHR played a major part in preventing the UK shipping Abu Hamza to the USA, nothing the Home Office or Theresa May could do about that. The ECHR may well be the next target for the anti Europe brigade, and no loss in my opinion.

You ought to be celebrating her, then.
Nothing, I think Cameron was an excellent PM.

Hilarious reading the asinine comments of Leavers (along the lines of 'stop whinging'), who clearly either haven't read Paul Mason's article or understood it. Mason had argued very cogently the case for leaving the EU months ago, but said that the Leave campaign as constituted was disingenuous and contradictory and therefore shouldn't be endorsed.
If the Leave numbskulls bothered to read this article they would see that Mason sees brexit as a real opportunity and that it could be made to work, but that the Tory/UKIP right is incapable of achieving this outcome either because they have the wrong model, or because they don't understand economics, or they're fantasists, or because it was all a pointless, frivolous passive-aggressive gesture.
In that case Brexit has become the most stupid of gambles and is going to fail. It's such a shame that Brexiters aren't more self-critical and don't rigorously engage with the opportunities that are presented. Just bleating on about 'independence' and 'getting on with it' really isn't good enough and is a substitute for proper thought.
