It does appear strange why Owl Face consistently plays players out of position. When he was manager at Inter he played Roberto Carlos in midfield after telling him he would never make it as a left back then subsequently palmed him off to Real Madrid.

Carlos went on to win many honours with Real Madrid scoring 70 odd goals as well as major honours with Brazil ....................As a left back!

The way he conducted himself at the press conference today is nothing short of disgraceful.

Paraphrasing Woy...

- "It was MY decision to come to this press conference, not the FA telling me to."

- "What am I doing here?"

I am actually glad we lost to Iceland because it meant getting rid of Hodgson and having a fresh start for the World Cup. Nothing could have been worse to make it to the quarter finals and the FA saying he did OK to get a new contract.

He should given a sly grin , two finger salute and a muttered " cheers for the cash suckers"

No manager on earth is going to get a TEAM of England players together

Engerlaand
Have to be able to play tournament football that's all I've heard since the Iceland game
All this talk of exciting players, playing good football, having a fantastic squad, great tactical management and coaches, preparation, rest, diet, too many games, hard long season, no winter break - pi$h
or do you play like this lol
3 group draws, qualify 3rd in group
last 16 - win 1 - 0 deep into extra time
QF - score 5 penalties

Portugal are real Poor, but they're in the semi's, the other sad thing, Ronaldo hasn't even kicked a ball yet - surely they can't win the competition...or can they, on penalties maybees lol
it's a funny old game

The highlight of the Euros so far?

For me, the Iceland fans' 'Haka'-like clapping/whooping thing. They're completely into it - the bitches and all.

Awesome.

Indeed, you can just picture a long line of Vikings doing it, just before maniacally charging on their enemy.

Berserkers.

I tell you who I think is the player of the competition so far and that's Renato Sanches. What a player and in my opinion going to be the next superstar, Bayern have got him for a bargain at only 35m euros.

I'd second that, they call it the Thunder Clap and very impressive it is too

some good performances, Payet, Italian team, Iceland, a bit of hazard, bale, the machine like Gerrys, Shaqiri goal, Slavan Bilic and I thought Crouch was honest, NI played better than I thought they could

a few disappointments, Zlatan, Ronny, Spain, England, France until they got a bit of steel in the 2nd half against Eire, then they looked a team

I took the Germans to win, not exactly the bet of the year lol

New England manager should be Chris Coleman

Well done Wales!!! I fancy them to beat Portugal after that display and make the final.

I hope the England team are made to watch that game and see how a football game should be played.

I've never seen Joe Allen show so much, Ramsey, Williams, Bale the whole team Immense, with a management team that are down to earth and focused on the teams strengths
I don't see Portugal as hard a game as Belgium
C'mon Wales all the way

Do you reckon this is a favorable omen that we're gonna be okay after Brexit: i.e. the British sticking it to the boys from Brussels!

Well done Wales. That was how to play as a team. Did I mention I am Welsh (both parents are)?

England lost to a team ranked 23 places beneath them. Belgium lost to a team ranked 24 beneath them!

Have you seen Cantona's pitch to become england manager?

An unbelievable achievement by Wales and totally deserved...

Belgium like England have a team of individuals who on paper are a match for anyone but matches aren't won on paper! What Wales, ROI, NI and even Iceland have achieved in this tournament really does highlight how $hit we were and how much Hodgson was out of his depth in terms of team section, tactics and motivation.....But hey, he'll now sit back and count the £14+ million he stole then appear on a TV station near you soon giving his expert opinion of football matches as a pundit.

^ sad but true ^
it's got to be one of the only industries where you can fail miserably, get a huge pay off and then jump back on the TV merry go round and get all the perks going again
these managers just don't seem to have a conscience or guilty bone in their bodies lol

Makes England's performance look even MORE abject. If that's actually possible.

great Euro 16 for the Welsh, they did miss Ramsay last night but what a dream tournament for them - unbelievable team spirit
2 touches from Ronaldo and it was curtains, cracking header, mis cued shot turned in by Nani, can't see them winning the final, but, with Ronny who knows, it's a 'funny old game'

I'm Portuguese... and I hope we get it this time.
We've had a great generation of players the ended 5 years ago (Rui Costa, Figo, Deco,...) and this is good mix of players - Renato Sanches at 18 and Ricardo Carvalho at 38.
We have unfinished business with France from previous competitions... and the French are acting like it's in the bag, so I hope Portugal wins.

What an utterly boring and useless final. Total anti climax to a months worth of football which has been average at best. Something is wrong with a format where a team that finishes third in the group stage ends up winning the tournament.

Which is exactly what I said!

The 3rd place spot has done nothing but bring defensive football instead of teams needing to go ***** out for the win for a chance to qualify....Possibly the worse tournament of any kind in terms of quality for a long time.

Have the Welsh finished celebrating winning **** all yet?
