It was the same old England when it comes to tournament games, couldn't close the game out and as for the Russian goal it was terrible defending not to close that cross down way before it ever got close to being a cross, they just let him run ffs.

Having 100 chances is no good if you can't bloody finish them. I'd rather see Vardy and Kane start up front together with Rooney sat behind them because tonight's efforts at finishing weren't good enough.

Yes some of the finishing was terrible but the overall performance was pretty good in terms of possession and chances created.

Off the top of my head, Rooney had 2 good chances, Lallana had two good chances, Smalling had a good chance......

I'd also like to see Kane and Vardy play and drop that useless arsehole Sterling....Apart from a Hatrick against us Cherries last season he was $hit and was $hit tonight also!

I know Vardy is best with a ball over the top on the break but I think he could be a great goal poacher with Kane laying them off to him as we missed that goal poacher tonight. When the ball was whipped in there was no one there to poke it in. I think Vardy can do that for us

Sterling's getting a lot of abuse this morning and rightly so, he offered nothing and should of been hauled off at half time or at least when he managed to tackle himself!
Liverpool's transfer of Sterling to City is quite possibly the best bit of Premier League business since UTD manged to offload Veron to Chelsea!

Can anyone explain why Kane was taking corners? I just don't get it.

This.

Absolutely ridiculous. What an absolute waste of him not being in the box.

What makes it doubly annoying is that his long ones were rubbish - they missed everyone.

Is 'Woy' being a bit thick here, or something?

Ludicrous state of affairs.

I no way shape or form does it make any sense to do it, it's not like when Beckham took them and went to the target every time.
A midget like sterling could have taken them.

England have some great players but we won't see there best because Roy builds his game around rooney, I just don't get it?
He's horrendous, I heard someone this morning saying he was or best player last night. I thought I must have been watching a different game.

Roy needs to drop him....... he's not the player he was 10years ago

Not being an England fan but as I live here now they are my second team.
For me Rooney has played great in midfield at the back end of the season in a poor sh1ted side.
What I don't get is why playing Kane and vardy up front in most of the warm up games then changing the formation etc in the first game.
He hasn't got the ***** to drop his favourites and play in form players and this is why England will fail again.
Leaving Lennon and drinkwater at home and taking his injury ridden favourites is another epic fail

Kane struggled with the offside rule last night far too many times for an International

Raheem Sterling just an expensive Aaron Lennon ??

I thought Rooney was controlling the game well in his new role, why take him off ??

Other than that there were promising signs, it aint over yet

Controlling the game???
Well???
We drew ones a piece mate!!! he created no danger from were I was watching and gave the ball away a few too many times.

When he was about to take his free kick, everyone In the bar said "he's missed it already"
My mate shouts "I bet he puts it over the bar" shock !!!! The useless **** strikes again lol.

I admit he can splay the ball and pick out some decent ***** but he is not the player he's made out to be, he just isn't good enough as a base to build a team around

I also thought Rooney had a good game and I'm not his biggest fan. He had two very good chances and was breaking forward when he could looking to score...We actually looked better with him on the field.

One game one point and looked pretty good, bring on the Welsh I say!

UEFA starting disciplinary action against Russia, citing their supporters for disturbances and racist behaviour.

Having seen the footage I want to know what has kicked the Russians off against us as they really were looking for a proper ruck. When they stormed the British inside the stadium the police should have fired tear gas not just let it turn into running battles in the stands

Hardcore hooligans don't need to be provoked as their attacks are all premeditated, hence the number of "calling cards" from various Russian firms littered all over Marseilles.

What i'm getting at is will they be the same against the Welsh or Slovakia? I think not, something made them want to target the England fans. Reputation of English football hooligans? But whilst FIFA/UEFA want the World to think it's always England at the heart of it the Italians are as bad as anyone for thuggish behaviour at football matches so lets see if it kicks off elsewhere and gets any coverage.

Yeah, I'd say bragging rights over the English and [unfortunately] our reputation.

I doubt we'll see a repeat of those scenes inside a stadium again (during this tournament), mainly because UEFA will (hopefully) have learned from the naivety in their thinking that the game is rid of the hooligan element, but also because of the threat of expulsions.

Outside the grounds and in the towns will be a different matter as there are many more factors to take into account - atmosphere, alcohol, policing and intelligence, provocation, local and international hooligan fractions etc.

But as you say, it's always the English who seem to make the news for the wrong reasons, whether it be villains or victims. never other countries' hooligans. Again, I think is down to the reputation we earned over the 80s/90s. Mud sticks as they say and consequently we are an easy target for the sensationalizing media.

UEFA should also rebuke themselves and whoever was responsible for security in the ground.

So much for "heightened" security, the Russians are walking in with flares and when they started blocking exits and rushing the England fans there were no stewards and no police anywhere near the incident, you clearly see them running round from the adjacent side of the ground.

Seems to all it was a well rehearsed attack on the English by the Russians, they certainly knew what they were doing, it wasn't a spur of the moment thing.

As for the ****** getting beered up in the street and throwing bottles just round them all up and send them home

I've just watched a 6 minute video shot by a Russian hooligan wearing a Go Pro! The majority of the fans they are attacking are kit wearing fans there just to watch the football and not interested in fighting.

The footage clearly shows these ***** stalking English fans and also show's them "tooled up" with what looks like bars. The guy wearing the Go Pro is walking around with two glass bottles.

Some of these Russian guys are proper units!

I'm surprised Barton didn't take them all on and win.

I don't think the FA will be inviting Russia for a friendly any time soon As for the World Cup in 2018 being in Russia that's going to be fun after this trouble.

There's a lot of trash talk coming from the Wales camp, firstly Bale and now Ramsey and what really makes me laugh is all the "How do England stop Bale" headlines.! He's just a poor mans Ronaldo!

When asked how many England players he'd like in the Welsh team, he said none.

LOL

Bottom line.

On balance, if Eng cannot beat the likes of Wales, then obviously they don't deserve to get through!! (Which, obviously, they wouldn't lol).

I want to be all bullish re. England... But they just don't give me any confidence to provide me with that licence lol.

They 'should' beat them comfortably.
But this is Eng...in the Euros...we're talking about. Groan.

Harry Kane taking corners, what's all that about, big centre forwards score from corners they don't take them
Rooney did play well in the last game

Wow - France are toothless, poor and lack ideas, but hey they've won 2 o/o 2
Pogba, please Jose M don't buy him
Martial you're like you are with Man U, you just want to walk about looking 'Cool' all the time, give yourself a shake or sit on the bench and save yourself for next season
