Just have a run trying it, get your tyres up to 35psi too. Don't worry about slight wheelspin as when it hooks up the revs will be higher from it.
I'm running 5 30 oil, and bare in mind Matt the oil in the engine stays at 60 degrees minimum. By the time I have staged etc it is up to 80 anyway.

Heat soak is regarding water temperatures and heating your inlet system. What is the point in having a good intercooler system then raising the inlet air temperature with a hot I let manifold etc.

35 psi? That's crazy pressures. I doubt that would be effective for me. You run less pressure and launch at higher rpm...

I run 35psi and 34psi normally but it's better to wheelspin than bog down. I might launch at higher RPM's but my 1st gear is like your 2nd gear lol.

I mean when I run both my oil and water are red hot obviously but my ET's are lower for it, hot oil seems to improve acceleration drastically whilst the hotter water and or heatsoak only seems to have a small penalty. Ideally you want red hot oil, cold water. TBH I've not queued for 25 minutes until staging so maybe just turn the ignition on 5 mins from the line. It's not crucial to try though, protecting your engine from det has to be paramount.

I can't remember where I read it but someone once stated that 5 speeds mainly fail when the tranny oil is stupidly hot and torque has increased about 50lbft!

Does Tranny Oil even get hot when the car is idling?

Have you tried the dakota raceway in Devon? It's a bit further to travel but I've heard it is flatter. There seemed to be quite a dip near the end at peeranporth.
