I keep toying with the idea of fitting the high level spoiler and the facelift front bumper but it would detract a little from the originality of the v3. Hmmm? I'm being swayed though.

I'm going high level, I spent a LOT of time thinking about it and pouring over pictures before I'd decided.

I'm having the mid level spoiler repainted on a spare bootlid so ill be able to change over in a few minutes if I want to.

Im assuming the other boot lid is due to the high level having extra mounts?

I was just wondering the same. Is the high level spoiler a different fixing pattern etc?

This project is ace, it's coming on really nicely.

Is it a v5 or 6 big wing? Original?
I keep wondering I might get a big wing but then I'm put off the price of them for genuine for the sake of seeing if I like it.
I've gone off the v6 wings as they look huge on car in comparison to a v5 one.

Yeah, this one will have a couple of extra holes drilled, but I've got this one now so it's being used. I've got another bootlid lined up but not in possession of it yet.

Definitely genuine, took a while to find it too, and yeah they cost a fortune now, I'm sure they used t change hands for £50 a few years ago!

Honestly I didn't know there was a difference between V5 and 6. What's the difference?

If they were £50 then I'd snap one up no problem lol.
V6 has a lip on top all the way across, big larger too, v5 is flat on top

White one is a v6 see the lip on top.
I prefer the v5 one as its not as huge as the v6 one so don't make look look a bit wierd IMO.
I like the 22b replica types aswell as they sit nice and not huge either, think their slightly smaller in height at the v5 one too

Looking at that pic I'm pretty sure mine's flat on top. I do like the 22b spoiler also, but I'm a bit funny with non genuine items personally.

Really!

Do you know if they've been proportionally narrowed widthways, so as to better suit the regular GC8 shell?

I asked for more pics as there seems to be a big looking spacer type thing at bottom to where it meets the lid.
I'll see if I can find it and link or screen shot it

Hmm, as I suspected. It does indeed look like a faithfull replica, and not a shortened one to suit the width of a std shell.

As much as I love the style of the 22B wing, to me, sadly, it's just too wide (for a std shell). The slight 'overhangs' either side are a bit jarring.

If only it was narrowed, so as to be within the width of the shell's rear wings. Bugger.

...But as you say, we need to see it on a car, rear aspect, for the final say!

Agree, but don't forget that picture is without rear wings on so hard to tell, and also the 22b rear arch dosent go wider till further down bottom of arch.

Example of a proper 22b

Ha. I knew someone would mention that!

Thing is, it's as Subaru/STi intended, so 'doesn't count' as a comparison.

-- Here's a pic illustrating the 22B wing's overhangs - and relative 'uprightness' - on a std width GC8.

(Annoyingly it also had the more bulbous, deeper 22B bumper too - thus actually balancing it out a bit more. But you still get the drift).

-- For comparison, the std v5 (top) and v6 (bottom) wings: look how more aesthetically pleasing it is, re. its width relative to the body width. It's more in proportion, overall.

NOTE: Admittedly, the 22B wing pic looks a bit worse, due to the shot being taken lower to the ground - than when compared to the other two std wing pics.
