Flywheel has arrived, and it is very light! Got some new genuine bolts for it too.

Couple of odds and sods too.

Painted over in the ubiquitous contemporary magnolia. We had it in my dad's house.

Had to get a little Xmas pressie for the R, won't be fitted until engines built, but couldn't resist it!

 

So how have you managed to change the bearings? Is it with a new core? I like the idea of this upgrade to the oe turbo.

Machining work has begun on a VF23 turbo housing, ready for the 34 wheel.

The wheel is still to arrive, but not long til this part of the build is complete.

 

Nice new system arrived today. Hopefully if I can get some gaskets and a fitting kit, I should should this fitted by Monday.

That looks like the rear 'box' snakes over the top of the half shaft, no?

 

Yeah, it's gonna be a bit loud . I'm keeping my old system just incase it's unbearable.

I have seen one fitted, can't remember exactly how it sits, but hopefully there'll be fitted pics by Monday. I've just ordered up all new genuine gaskets and bolts for it too which were more than I'd expected.

 

Most boring update ever... but still.

Received all my new genuine nuts, bolts, springs and gaskets for the new exhaust. Hopefully if I can get it on the ramp tomorrow it's fitting time.

 

So, fitted the Group A system today. Absolutely perfect fit.

cooky, is the rear box section's pipework 3" diameter?

Is it designed to correctly mate up to an OEM-pattern/length centre section (whether 2.5 or 3 inch flange)?

Can the rear section be bought on its own?

My system is 2.5 inch as didn't need to go to 3.

I'm pretty sure the centre section is the same is OE length, but I'm not 100% on that as I didn't compare the two when I removed old system. I'm sure Hayward and Scott could confirm though mate.

 

Yesterday's impulse purchase.. should go nice with my custom dash pod.

Need to think of somewhere to mount the controller so it blends in.
