We had an apple strudle from Aldi and whilst I was eating some I notice on my spoon before I shoveled the next mouthful in there was a string like thing on my spoon. It was like a nylon material. It was a case of thank f**k I didn't swallow it as god knows what might of happened.

Yeh its defo funny escpecialy when i see my wage packet as they pay me a huge salary for what is a really easy job 40 hours a week 5on 3 off stores are booming now so products cant be too shabby and in all honesty the few years ive worked for them there has hardly been any recals of products.

Indeed some of their products are made by the same supplier that supplies Marks and Spencer's own brand products. Sometimes the odd batch has been delivered with the wrong packaging.

If the product is made in the UK. There is only a finite number of mass production suppliers that could deliver the quality of required products that a typical UK supermarket demands for consistent stock.

Look it's quite simple, I can prove that Aldi food was produced in a dirty factory leading to a recall, none of you can prove that the products sold by Aldi are the same just in a different packet.

 

Aldi, sainsbury, tesco, as da and many othersuppliers products are all made in the same factory.

Their pies etc all come from the same factory and the same machine. Having worked on said machine and checked the programmes they use for each piece as they are all different shapes and weights etc I can confirm it is the same ****, different pack.

Yes I thought to take pictures of two identical pies just in case someone on the Internet in 18 months time asked me about it lol! The only thing they change is the shape, weight and size, core ingredients are the same

I am a controls engineer and I set up the chemical dosing plant for the production line of said pies. At the end of the line is the packing machine and they just load what ever the packaging required is, I had to test every programme to check the right amount of cleaning chemicals were dosed into the system after each run.

I don't eat pies or ready meals but am prepared to do so for science. If someone's convinced that a product from Aldi is the same as one from Waitrose, name it and I'll buy it. Actually I told a bit of a lie there as I'll sometimes get a Lasagne if in a rush, Waitrose is very different to Tesco.

It's only two people and one of those works for Aldi. I'd like to think that most people understand that to reduce prices you cut corners, like dirty factories, it's not magic.

Just because they are different shape size and weight is irrelevant. The content and filling etc is exactly the same.

The finest ranges use the same mix for each brands finest range just the filling has a higher meat content than the "regular" pies.

It is a widely accepted practice especially in the electrical world, I can go and buy the same thing from 7 different manufacturers that are all exactly the same. Yet branded and sell at vastly different prices.

I remember about 20 years ago when Tesco had a recall on there budget chicken nuggets, because they where made using meet not fit for humans. How many other companies had to recall there chicken nuggets. NONE funny that.

Also there more expensive chicken nuggets weren't effected?

 

I'm sure Waitrose deliver a slightly plusher cardboard container for the meal lol
