dozza there is a place in braunton that can straighten them but they will need a repaint afterwards, they did all 4 wheels on our focus perfect and they where like eggs, all you would need to do afterwards is find 1 more useable wheel. the garage is behind the surf shop, the one that sells porsche's

But I think these wheels are finished with, to echo what others have said above, if some other fool gets hold of these wheels, tarts them up a bit to hide the problems, and sells them on to some other unsuspecting buyer, then we are back to square one and someones like is in danger once again.
I want no part of that.
They have already been refurbed once from my understanding, so they have already been weakened.
Could somebody please provide some ways that these wheels could be used as ornaments, I like the hose reel one!

Also, just for the record, the mileage of the vehicle is incorrect also, seller states in the advert description that the cars clocks have never been converted to MPH, well guess what, they have!
Car reads about 5mph higher than true speed, I know this as the sat nav was reporting 45mph while the speedo showed 50mph.
The car was apparently imported in 2010, so its now very difficult to establish what the true mileage of the car is.
I am not doing myself any favours by posting this stuff, as this info alone is going to devalue the car, but when or even if it comes to resale time, I want the buyer to know exactly what they are buying.
Unlike the experience I have just had!
But a little update, I have now completed the County Court forms, didn't know you could now do all this stuff online these days, made it very easy to do, didn't even need to go to a court to get the ball rolling!
Its cost me a pretty penny to start these proceedings, but Ill be damned if I am letting this idiot get away with he has done!
Will keep this thread updated with any info as it happens.

The law for car speedometers in the UK
The UK law is based on the EU standard, with some minor changes. A speedo must never show less than the actual speed, and must never show more than 110% of actual speed + 6.25mph. So if your true speed is 40mph, your speedo could legally be reading up to 50.25mph but never less than 40mph. Or to put it another way, if your speedo is reading 50mph, you won’t be doing more than 50mph but it’s possible you might actually only be travelling at 40mph.
To ensure that they comply with the law and make sure that their speedometers are never showing less than true speed under any foreseeable circumstances, car manufacturers will normally deliberately calibrate their speedos to read ‘high’ by a certain amount. As your satnav is not the designated device by which a car’s speed is measured, it does not need to incorporate any fudge factoring.

i dont think you understood what the op meant. the seller stated that it has not been converted to mph but it has as sat nav shows 45 and speedo shows 50mph whereas if it was in kph it would show around 70+ on the speedo

the only thing that really does worry me in all of this is YES the seller shouldn't sell a car that could possible be illegal or cause serious problems etc but the onus isn't surely just on the seller the buyer looked at the car and wasn't that worried about possible problems in his own mind or what the seller was telling him or he wouldn't have gave him the money....
I am no way standing up for the seller but we have all bought 2nd hand cars and have poked and prodded things like wheels and tyres and knocked bodywork etc to see if it is sound and looked at this sort of thing and looked underneath to see if it is sound or a rust bucket haven't we !!!!!
Just my views

I was far too trusting of what this seller was saying and took what he said at face value and had no reason to distrust what he was saying.
However, this guy didn't just hide one thing, he hid a huge amount of things, and to be honest my mind was preoccupied with establishing what the problem with the wheels were. Maybe that was his tactic, to distract away from the other issues with the car by concentrating on one bigger issue.
But just for the record, heres a list of what I have found so far.
- Wheels are unsafe and not fit for the road, as are the tyres. I have had to buy new wheels and tyres.
- The milage is incorrect, the seller claims the odometer has never been converted to MPH. But in fact they have. I did a full HPI check on the car before purchase and entered the mileage when doing the check, no warning flags were displayed.
- Engine has issues which were not apparent on a test drive. Idling and stalling issues, spluttering issues at part throttle.
- Car was imported in 2009 and not 2011 as the seller claims.
- All gauges in the Zero Sports pod are not connected to sensors or wired up.
- Seller claimed the car had Air Conditioning, pipework is there, and so is the switch in the climate control panel, however the pump is not.
- There are several items that were supposed to be included with the car which were not.
- Greedy Prosport Boost Controller
- ARC BOV
- Pioneer Stereo (Car actually has a cheap Kenwood stereo, which is not even wired in properly)
- Focal Front Mids & Tweeter Speakers (OEM Speakers in place)
- Focal 6x9 Rear Speakers (Shelf mounted speakers)
So all in all, absolute lies have been told by this seller.
I am taking the car to Engine Tuner in Plymouth tomorrow to see what condition the car is in underneath, and mainly what shape the engine is actually in. I am expecting the worse.
Of course I can be held responsible for not checking out some of these issues, but there are many aspects of the above which the seller should have made clear. Wheels being the main one, the mileage, the items included with the car which are actually missing.
Would you go over the wheels of a car you are about to buy so closely that you would spot a well hidden crack in a spoke? Would you check that the speedo of the car is reading in MPH as opposed to KMH? Would you check the milage of the car when HPI check says its fine?
Do I really need to go on?
Its very clear that the seller went out of his way to make as much money as possible without any regard for the welfare and safety of others.
But fear not, it wont be for me to decide the fate of this situation. I have presented my case to the court, I have to wait what story he tells them, if he responds at all.
I will update this thread as and when anything happens.

Yes they have built the engine. They have done all of the work on my car. It's in for mapping this week so will hopefully be out by the weekend if I'm a lucky boy!

The reason I asked was because when going to court one needs to have a clear objective if you want to come out of it with anything, I don't see "bang to rights" and making sure he doesn't do it again as something one can do in a court of law, unless it's sharia law of course.
I can read, but I've been to court and there aint no Justice there.

With regards to the advert, if I was the op I would quote the original advert and repost, just in case the seller decides to edit and remove any of the items it is listed as having that are not present, rather than just put a link up to the advert.

Just pulling your leg Ditchy. It's a tricky one, as they say, buyer beware.

But I will also quote all his posts in that thread just in case.

The guy tried to px with me for my Evo 7 rs back in October when I was selling that told him I would need cash on top as he was trying for a swap. As soon as I said I wouldn't do it unless there was cash my way. I never heard from him again.
