You need the power fc commander to scroll through the settings, also it sounds like the maf is fubar'd so I would change it and see if smooths out some of the issues.

You DO have limited rights as a private buyer, but not many. But the key thing here is misrepresentation. This guy has straight up lied to you. You need to keep a copy of the ad and get that report from the garage that checked the wheels. You've definitely got a case for misrepresentation here. You simply cannot make factual statements to make a sale if they are outright lies!

Best of luck man. I've bought a couple of lemons and been really sorry with myself over the years, so I know how it feels. The difference here is that you've bought a car that still has lots of potential if you got the money and patience! Good luck.

Hopefully mate you can get it all sorted to make it a perfect car.
Type r's are only going to go up in value anyway.

Id persue the coont out principle for the fact of avoiding the situation and removing himself off facebook says it all really.
I mean come on, all he had to do was be honest about the wheel and knock a couple of hundred quid off and he still would of had 8.3k.
So all this hiding, threatening etc for £200
Engine related issues can happen to anyone so that's just one of them things you got to be prepared for.

He has a case for the car not being fit for purpose. We got awarded a full refund for an Evo IV after a long battle, the seller was arrested just before the court day and imprisoned shortly after. Even though we won we were still left with £6000 in legal fees and a dodgy Evo IV. Tbh most of the issues were easy fixes and the worn exhaust valve we got quoted £1400 by NR to fix was sorted for half that by a local tuner. When we had the Subaru compression tested the dealer who sold us it wouldn't honour the warranty so we just thought better the devil you know and put some stop smoke in.

The seller has logged on here since selling the car. I assume he has seen the **** storm and is keeping a low profile.
Hopefully he will do the right thing and at least refund you for the wheels.

Maybe see if someone local can come out and do a compression/leak down test to put your mind at ease about the engine whilst your sorting the wheels?
I have 4 different boost settings on my Apexi Power FC but yes you do need the Hand Commander to change them.

Thanks for the link to the manual.

I do have the commander, all I can see is boost settings, but its unclear to me how they are selected, I dont want to mess any of the settings up.

Ill see if there are any videos on YouTube.

Off the top of my head it's - Settings - Boost and that should give you what options are available. You just scroll down to the setting you want then exit back to Monitor.

The FC does not support multiple maps but you can have different boost settings stored.

Tyres are naffed as well!

Took the wheels to a local tyre shop do have the tyres removed to go on the new wheels arriving tomorrow, only to find out that the inside of the tyres are split.

One of the tyre fitters seems to think that somebody has put the tyres on without a tyre machine, forcing the tyre over the rim which has not only buckled the wheels, but also damaged the inside of the tyres.

So thats another £400 I have just had to spend!!

Pulling my bloody hair out............. hold on, I have no hair left!!!

I suppose you can look at it like this, at least you can be confident that all is ok regarding the wheels and tyres even though it has cost you a small fortune

Thats true.

But whats more annoying is that I was pretty limited to wheel choice as I wanted to avoid buying new tyres and went with 18" wheels again. I would have preferred 17" wheels as I think the ride would be better overall.

So I could have had a much wider choice of wheels if I had known the 'new' tyres were knackered!

Just to add mate,I bought those genuine volk centres for the wheels which cost me £40 a cap so I'd get them on eBay to recoup a little bit of some cash👍🏻

Funny you should say that, I was going to see what they were worth, but there seems to be one missing! They are nice centre caps too!

I think they are beyond repair mate. They are all buckled, and as you know, one wheel has a cracked spoke.

The fact that they are aluminium makes it difficult to repair from what I understand.

However, if you want them, you can have them, I would not want anything for the wheels. But I need to keep hold of them at the moment due to the legal proceedings that are about to occur.
