Looks like one of our traders does not take care of our cars when test driving!
Well here's a bit more controversy for you.
MOT stations at present are independent businesses. They want to you come to them. Therefore it isn't in their interests to annoy you with nit picking. Most of them are small, and therefore inclined to be nice to you. They also by and large don't have 4x4 brake testers. The big ones are more likely to have 4x4 brake testers but regrettably are often soul less places with no chance of a healthy rapport with the man who is doing the testing.
The small ones would therefore either pop a Tapley in and go for a drive about in your highly tuned pride and joy or possibly feel that they don't want to do that and just leave that part out.
Those who are horrified by that fact should also rush out and put their cat back on while they are at it!

Yes there does seem a concerted effort to change the subject but SC Supporters, so lets reitorate the situation.
This thread is NOT about MOT Testing, Diffs or anything like that. There is this great button you can press called 'New Topic' to discuss that, this thread is part of support for the poor Subaru owner whose car was abused and then he himself ridiculed by a so-called specialist.
Personally I thought more highly of Alan Jeffreys, but by his actions on this thread, in a vague attempt to muddle and divert the attention away from SC has made me now think they cut from similar cloths. Seems the boys of MLR are most unimpressed by him as well.
So, anymore news out of the Big Man Kev or is he just hoping this will all blow over and be forgotten.....?

Just to realign the focus, I will cut and paste my post 780
Lets just revisit the original situation, as there seems to be a huge shift away from the focus by the 'mates' of the company.
What we can derive from LizP's post, and in her own words
'The road to the farm is indeed awful but everyone knows that and allows for it when visiting'
so with this in mind, apparently 'visitors' do, but the mechanics that work at the company do not, as shown by the video evidence.
There is no witch hunt from what I have seen, just members of a so-called community expressing there digusts not only in the mechanic and his passengers behaviour, but by that of the owner.
We can also take from LizOP's post that there customer service is bad. So was this an isolated case? No I highly doubt it was, and god only knows how many times customers cars have been abused in their pocession.
We can all probably agree, the gaffer (Kev) cannot oversee his staff 110%, therefore sometimes an employee may step out of line, and occasionally, severely step out of line like in this instance. So, instead of offering a deep heartfelt apology and bending over backwards to put the situation right, showing methods he has taken to reprimand the member of staff, and build new policies in attempt to stop the same situation again- he basically abused the customer from start to finish, irregardless of any form of Daily Mail posting or not - which believe it or not, will not of been a big pay out, if a pay out at all. This really seems like this is the level of car care is standard at ScoobyClinic from Kevs response - I would strongly advise most to NEVER take their car there again.
From what I have read - Ben, you dealt with this situation very well, and Kev - you dealt with this situation appallingly. From the early mocking of the customer, to the later denial of any wrongdoing, and almost offensive behaviour to the customer and other customers, who PAY YOUR WAGES and give you a very comfortable lifestyle with your race car and premises - its disgusting. Each argument was squashed by the OP with actual evidence.
The pot holes are another issue - even if you are not responsible for the road, being that your 'specialist' company looking after 'special' cars, you would feel, the company would try to make the road more accessible - I know I would. For the prices they charge, spending a couple of grand doing repairs would not seem a lot at all - but there is a strong smell of greed in the air from Scooby Clinic, and I feel this is why this was never done before. I doubt it even will now either based on his response.
I had been screwed over by Subaru specialists myself multiple times, although never a customer of ScoobyClinic due to their insane pricing structure, it was another one of the reasons I left the fold - Moronic owners and greedy specialists.
Looking at the forum, Dickmyster has changed his tune more often than his socks and seems to side where he feels he will get the best result - currently it seems he has given the big man 'Kev' a call and had a chat with him (this is probably very untrue knowing what this forum warriors nature of being a fantasist), I for one cannot understand how anyone can defend Kev and his actions post event whatsoever. There has also been a couple of Scooby Clinic Heroes with Monstermunch and his husband Big Willie posting, joined in the last couple of days only a couple of posts about this topic - obviously friends of the firm if not the actual mechanics involved (albeit I couldn't quite understand some of the words they wrote being terrible English - full stops do exist chaps!) and were commenting how Ben drove his car with bad brakes - its almost comical - any proper enthusiast knows, you know, the real enthusiast who takes care of his car rather than bolting on Halfords parts, wants his/her car to be perfect - the brake pedal being 'just not right' would be a reason for me to go to a so called specialist to investigate - it dosen't mean the car 'has no brakes and he will kill his daughter' - its almost laughable at their grasp of the situation, and actually fuels the annoyance with Scooby Clinic by real enthusiasts.
Kev - You have dug your own grave by showing yourself as a 'scally' - your attitude has pretty much proven that your company treats its customers, and their cars like commodities rather than an owners pride and joy. You could of put your hand up, offer an apology and some goodwill gestures, but instead you threatened, bullied and tried to ridicule to owner of the car - who innocently brought their car to you for care and attention - you provided none of this.
I hope that the company learns from this, and I also hope that they lose a lot of business - before the response by Kev I did not wish this, but after reading his statement, he deserves for whatever happens. I hope also a legal case is brought against the company for malicious damage.
It will be a good day if Scooby Clinic did stop trading, as this will hopefully show the other so called specialists that to retain your customer base and reputation you need to treat customers, and their cars much better and thats all down to you big man (Kev).

shock horror i have just found a 100% honest garage and employee, car went in for drivers side strut tower welding, ( pre agreed price) i was then sent photos of the passenger side plus inner cv boot and sill and handbrake shoes, was told no additional labour as the car is allready apart only additional cost shoes and cv boot, it dont get much more honest that that, they rally a scoob and the mechanic working on my car is part of the pit crew so i know he know's what he is doing, WELL CHUFFED IS ALL I WILL SAY, thank you GRAHAM ROBERTS AUTO'S restored my faith in the motor trade

I just happened to mention a particular story and got pulled on it by somebody who wanted to talk about it. What gives you the right to pontificate I can't imagine, particularly as you've stated that Subaru owners are quote "Moronic".
Appreciate that thankyou. I just hope the owner gets some form of compensation at least, I hate it when people get screwed over, so hopefully keep up the pressure will help this situation, and also any other garages who feel the actions where acceptable (and also diverting the attention). Seems to be some of the thread that do as well...sad times for Subaru ownership it really is.
Hi all, I have just taken my car into a garage as my crank pulley was vibrating quite badly. They have told me that who ever fitted my cam belt has forced it into position and coursed a hell of a lot of damage potentially resulting in an engine breakdown. Below is what the garage told me:-
"Basically the crank pulley wasn't sitting on the ruff-wood key its a semicircle bit of metal that sits into the crank so crank pulley was all ways going to be wonky"
The garage that did my cambelt and charged me £450 was:-
SCOOBY CLINIC
It has just cost me another £150 to get the problem solved. I have a few pictures to show you:-

Nowhere have I said that anybody's actions are acceptable, I happen to think that it shouldn't have happened, and could have been handled better on both sides.
Do you agree with that statement?

Exactly - whether it was intentional or not, it dilutes the information and the situation , which is not fair to the person who has been screwed over. If Enginetuner has an agenda, then we shall see by future posts...
Personally, I think so, they made an error, its been photograhed and documented, it happens, only human. Seeing their response would give them a chance to offer a solution, or indeed show some true colours again.

can we call you a SC - non fanboy seeing as your last post prior was 2010?
11 pages of member being questioned over legitimacy, then video unleashed, then 18 pages of member being right and supported, and ScoobyClinic business sinking faster than the titanic.....what else is there to discuss over it all?
not swinging the topic at all - the MOT thing is just something im genuinely intrigued by as its government run in NI and they say its 4wd safe yet someone on here can say NONE are 4wd safe
and for record i have **** all squared to do with either member or SC!

back on topic, I think Kev has been digging himself deeper into a hole since his online comments...
There, that better!?
I havent dealt with SC for a few years, but being a customer (and still owning a scooby, the only reason I kept away from SN is because of the plonkers on here) but when I WAS a customer, I always had replies to emails, sure the work took longer than I hoped but when you visit the place and see how busy they are, you can understand why things take some time - especially if you have a big job, they're a company and want to get a quick turnaround on the smaller jobs - that was my ONLY gripe - and as for Kev's honesty - the chap actually GAVE ME BACK £200 for a job they had overpriced because they didnt need to change certain parts. I've never had a garage/specialist hand me money back - so as for honesty - I hold Kev in the highest regard.
As for the current situation that has happened, its just gone sideways and a bit out of control.
I am sure there are issues on both sides - Kev was probably (still is) pi55ed off that a video was shown AROUND the WORLD of an employee who did not seem to hold a customer car in high regard. I doubt very much the video was shown direct to Kev - he would have done something about it - that I am pretty sure.
When I do next need to get my car looked at - it will be at SC.
As others have mentioned about prices - prices or not, I have had great service from them - every time - you pays for what you get.
If you have a problem with SC - speak to Kev, not a mechanic or a driver. Be calm and sensible, people make mistakes and as long as you're not going in like a bull, Kev will sort it out.
As for Slaine's issue - you shouldnt have just got it repaired - you should have spoke to SC first about the issue. You might get lucky but if I were Kev, I'd be thinking "oh here we go, someone jumping on the band wagon wanting to fleece me of cash" - am sure they would of rather have looked at it, corrected it and send you home as a happy customer.

You might get lucky but if I were Kev, I'd be thinking "oh here we go, someone jumping on the band wagon wanting to fleece me of cash" - am sure they would of rather have looked at it, corrected it and send you home as a happy customer.
"...its alleged that the driver was deliberately aiming for pot holes when its clear to see that he tries to swerve avoiding as many as possible..."
yeah I had the same thoughts.... (that Kev would probably think that).
