Looks like one of our traders does not take care of our cars when test driving!
They will need to do much more than comment.
Nothing less than a full explanation of how this has been dealt with internally, serious amounts of humble pie and reassurances that this will never happen again. And compensation for the OP of course.
Sadly, judging by the way Kev initially handled things it may be to late for even that.

As for the passenger, I don't think he should be held responsible for the actions of the driver, he wasn't the one behind the wheel, although some of his comments were a little silly I don't think they were in anyway responsible for the actions of the driver, he was obviously on a mission and p1ssed for what ever reason.
I owe the clinic no favours, but neither would I want to see them go out of business because of the stupidity of one employee. But is this genuinely an example of what can be expected as the 'care' culture at the clinic? How many cars have been ragged up and down that road in a similar manner without the owner's knowledge? This certainly won't have been the first.
I hope that Scooby Clinic survive this **** storm and emerge with a change in attitude as a better resource for scooby owners. Whatever this incident tells us of the behaviour of (hopefully) a minority of SC employees, as a company they have a huge amount of experience for scooby enthusiasts to draw on, and it would be a sad loss if another Subaru specialist closed their doors for the last time.
It's always going to be the way unfortunately, in this day and age it's all about scandal and sensationalism, look at all the cr4p Tyson Fury is getting for saying women look good in dresses
forget about him being the heavyweight champion of the world and doing what no one thought possible.Yep the lad was a pr@t and he's been caught and now it's cost him his job, he'll probably struggle to get another anywhere as a mechanic after all this, regardless of how good he is at it.
As you say it only takes one thing and all hell breaks lose, now folks are trashing their turbos, it's not so long ago everyone was praising them as having moved the game forward, what's next I wonder.
Is it not obvious if there is an onboard dashcam present ? First we have the incident at Shelley motors, now have this at Scoobyclinic ... strikes me that mechanics are either oblivious to them or just can't see them. Which is it ?
Got a link to the comments mate.

Short version is mechanic has left clinic
yeah, interesting how very few people gave a toss about that incident and its all been forgotten.
pmsl
Do we have to employ Big Brother now in order to ensure we get decent treatment?
Scoobyclinic were probably the highest rated and most trustworthy i was going to be driving down from scotland in a few months to get my mapping on my syvecs tweeked, be avoiding that place like a great big pothole now.
The question is: would the passenger have treated the car any differently had he been in the driving seat?

It's there for all to see so there's no way I could sit here and try to defend that sort of behaviour, regardless of my opinion of them as a company which is a good one based on my experience there.
Now the integrity of everyone who works there has been called into question, which is the real shame in all of this because it effects the lively hoods and families of what I have seen and know to be decent hard working people.
I too hope the repercussions of this don't effect them too badly as that would truly be unfair to them, as well as the wider community loosing some valuable resources through their knowledge and experience along with a proven track record of doing good for the Subaru community.
I can only hope that this whole situation serves as an example to other would be wrong doers the extent to which a moments madness can explode out of proportion into something way beyond their imagination with far reaching repercussions.
If you've got a small dash cam fitted in front of the windscreen mirror, when sat in the drivers seat you will hardly notice and obviously, and probably in most cases, not many people are actively looking out for a dash cam. Also if it was hard wired (cable tucked up into the headlining and down the side) then it makes it even more discreet as there's nothing plugged into the cigarette lighter socket.
I depends.... It's usually pretty obvious, but some are quite compact and often behind the rear view mirror, so easily missed. Also to people not familiar with them it might be assumed that they need to be switched on and told to record manually, so the assumption is that it's not on, whereas in reality most of them switch on and record automatically with the ignition.
I don't believe there has been any official comments as such, though I understand it is the owner of Scooby Clinic who responded on the MSOC forum prior to the release of the video:
To me this is as much, if not more, of a sin than the incident itself. A company owner can't watch over every single member of staff for every hour of the day, nor can he comment on an incident he didn't witness... but he can handle customer complaints with respect and, although I can understand he would side with his own mechanic if the evidence from the customer wasn't immediately forthcoming, taking cheap shots at the customer online is pretty unprofessional.
I doubt Scooby Clinic will close as a consequence of this, but I would think they are going to have to work pretty damn hard to build up their reputation with the wider community again.
If I recall correctly Shelly Motors are no longer part of the Subaru dealer network: I daresay that's a pretty good indication that the incident wasn't "forgotten".
I think this is the start of the end for ScoobyClinic. How can they possibly comeback after this? The footage is everywhere now and no one will want to take their car there.
The fact that there's been no response from Kevin, the owner, shows that he's probably thrown the towel in and really doesn't care anymore. If he really wanted to get this sorted he would have done it at the weekend when the incident first happened. Even if he didn't want to sort it at first (which he didn't) he should be back tracking ASAP and should have released an official response by now stating what he is going to do, not hiding instead.
Yes he's probably going through a lot right now but if he really wanted to make it better, even a quick 2 minute post on the forum is better than nothing.
Ben has recently posted on the MLR and said that he himself hasn't even heard anything back from Scooby Clinic yet! How shocking is that? Good bye SC......

There are haters everywhere. Like Tidgy said, do a million things right and no-one notices. Do one thing wrong and everyone sees. It's not going to break the clinic and no amount of scaremongering, witch-hunts and lynching mobs are going to make it any more severe. You have your opinion and that's fine, but you don't speak for everyone.
I wouldn't take my car there anyway because of distance but in light of this bad press, I suspect anyone's car would actually be treated extremely well at the moment (assuming they don't go bankrupt whilst your car is there) - just saying
There are people for the clinic and people completely against the clinic, these two groups you dont need to worry about as they will not change their opinion regardless. Its the people in the middle who will be swayed for/against by how this has been handled up to press and what will happen going forward...
Everyone forgot about it being restored to its factory settings with time and date being reset...sounds like they knew it was there and thought they had wiped it, but was saved to memory card not internal memory
I've seen the footage over and over. My car will be back at the clinic by the end of the week. So will my other half's. The same can be said for many people that know the clinic and know that this is an isolated incident. If anything we have more faith now than before because the clinic know the eyes of the subaru community are on them.

I wasn't speaking for everyone
Simply giving my opinion on an open forum but I'm sure more people agree with me than you
