Is complimenting a female on her appearance sexist and belittling?

Sounds like a typical attention-seeking woman personally. Any excuse to spout off about sexism and 'what's right and wrong'. Stuck up cow. And she's not exactly 'stunning' anyway, I wouldn't look at her twice.
Never try to understand women, women understand women and they hate each other...

LOL, you can't win with women, don't even TRY to understand them and never, never bother to argue with one.
They spend hours primping to make themselves look nice, then go off on one when anyone says owt. Yet if they were ignored they'd be affronted.
Illogical.
I mean, come ON, how can we take seriously people who change their hair colour, skin colour, smear stuff on their lips, faces and eyelids, including weird colours, have stuff injected into their lips to make 'em pout like a cod, have fakey bits inserted into *****, then whine when it goes wrong and want the nhs to pay for removal? Walk around in shoes with pointed ends, into which feet are FORCED by having huge heels stuck on them, then whine about having achey feet, paint their finger and toenails lurid colours,.....?
I could go on, but you get the picture?

She's not that smart a lawyer on the basis that what he did was not actually sexist or misogynistic.
"Sexism or gender discrimination is prejudice or discrimination based on a person's sex or gender"
"A misogynist is a person who hates or doesn't trust women"
He's not discriminating and he certainly doesn't hate or distrust her (well, not at the time) What he did was "politically incorrect" as he said and inappropriate, but it was neither sexist nor misogynistic.
His "crime" is forgetting that this is 2015 and that lecherous (because let's be honest, he got her connection request and thought, "yeah, I would") behaviour is not tolerable.
She, on the other hand, appears to be a bit of a hypocrite.

Really he should have seen the 'Human rights lawyer' bit and thought better of sending something like that!
Not saying she's right, but bloke didn't think that one through did he! Or maybe he's actually comedy genius.
I'd have just replied to her message with "Sorry, my very dry sarcasm does go unnoticed sometimes. Let me re-phrase what I wrote in a more conventional manner you will understand... You're a pig"
If what he wrote was so offensive, that reply would surely be a compliment wouldn't it?
As already mentioned, she looks well groomed and made up. Any woman who really thinks that way wouldn't be looking like that. She should be made to never wear make up again, do her hair herself (although looking at the pic she may be onto that already) and wear a boiler suit with flat shoes. Only then can she complain.
I wonder if her father has ever said she looks pretty? Sexist pig, probably has!

I Work in a schoolthe staff is predminantly female. Out of 60 staff, im one of 4 males there. To say it gets tense sometimes is an understatement. The only reaction i get from most , if i say they look nice , is "what you after ?" lol

However there are plenty of examples of both behaviours in this thread...
