The cage in my link looks fine to me. The guys fitting it should have no problem if they've done loads before. You can always get a friendly scrutineer to have a look at it when it's fitted, before you compete for peace of mind.

Been doing Hillclimb and sprints for a good few years, have you had a quote for a T45 version, it will be a bit more expensive but will also be considerably lighter
