The 2015-2016 Arsenal Thread
Lol @ the gooners celebrating 2nd. How sad a once great club that won things is now satisfied with being also rans in the league and champs league. Its great you qualify every season but do try and win it. After the great season of the unbeatables you should have progressed to winning both the league and champs league, but you haven't. Just incase you dont know you need a leader at centre half a bully in midfield and Higuan upfront. Oh but isn't thats whats been missing for last few seasons ?. For all the great things that Wenger has done for english football, if he doesnt recyify it next season it really is time to go.
2nd is a miracle after the last 10 years and first time in that time we have finished above Utd, City and Chelsea but only because those 3 have underperformed even more than we have
I'm not an Arsenal fan, follow hull city, but l do enjoy watching the gunners play there abit like barca till they get to the penalty area lol. I see even Wenger says in todays papers that you need 3 players. Lets hope he gets the right ones.
they are quite frustrating sometimes tbh, the ticky tacky football on the edge of the area especially so
sometime you just want someone to leather the fvcker
but Ozil, Sanchez and Cazorla are stunning to watch live

And celebrated like they'd won the title, including Arsene

Never understood this mentality, especially when they should have been challenging for the title this season more than most.
Still it's an improvement on 4th
We celebrated like we had finished ahead of our most bitter rivals for 21 years in a row and in spectacular and unlikely circumstances on this particular occasion which made it sweet enough to temporarily forget that we should have done much better.
But they do it every season even when they finish 4th, that's the main point.
Ah come on Funkii you know the Spuds have been unbearably smug for the last half of the season thinking they were going to finish above Arsenal and even win the Premiership so to see them not do either was the cause for celebration. I did bloody laugh when Newcastle won 5-1 as it was just desserts for being so cocky.

Personally I like what Mo Po is doing there and I can see them taking the EPL within the next 3 seasons especially if LVGor Maureen are at United and Wenger still having total control at the emirates, he should concentrate on coaching and leave the rest of it to someone else, just my opinion

There is not one ounce of my being that wants Maureen anywhere near my club
Oh I don't doubt they will be contenders with the way their squad has been improved and the way they now play. It all depends how the other teams grow/adapt and unfortunately that has been Wenger's downfall, tactically he is unable to adapt and change and plays the same tactics every game of the season. The lower league teams know they can get a point off us by parking the bus as Wenger has never found a solution to defeating that tactic. Only teams that come and have a go to score does his tactics work against. It's been the same for years now and Allardyce is a master at frustrating Wenger going right back to his Bolton days and others are catching on.
I've been in the Wenger out camp since before it even started as you well know
and it's taken those other fans too long in my opinion to see where it's all going wrong. I could see it as soon as the core of our World class players left and there was no attempt to replace like for like. The fans should have heard alarm bells ringing like I did when the likes of Bergkamp, Vieira, Henry, Keown/Campbell and Gilberto weren't replaced with equal quality replacements. That was the core/spine of the team and it's been a struggle ever since.
They still need that core of a World class central defender, a World class holding midfielder and a World class striker. Until they come in they won't win the Premiership and i've said that all along.
Getting rid of David Dein was also a massive massive mistake by the Arsenal board as it was his vision and hard work in attracting the right players that has been missing ever since.

And arsenal (wenger?) were under some financial constraints, paying for the new stadium
So decided not to go into debt
I do remember during those years, looking up at the team sheet when it was displayed at the emirates and thinking "who the Fvck are these players"
They were Hodgy however what many of the fans forget is that we have 2 multi billionaires as the 2 main shareholders. Kroenke's net worth is $6bn and Usmanov's is over $13bn!!! Between the pair of them they put Abramovich in the shade. The Arsenal board on are on record for actually saying they didn't want Usmanov's money so no one can tell me there has been a lack on money to buy players.
Same old Arsenal wanting Vardy for £20m because Morata who they were after is £40m. Always the cheap ******* option and they never get it into their tight ar$e heads there is a reason why one is £20m and one £40m - you get what you pay for!!!
Now Chelsea are in for Morata and Vardy hasn't even decided if he wants to go to Arsenal. I wouldn't if I was him.
Not just Wenger who needs to go Gazidis is the bigger issue.

He has had one good season and admittedly scored some stunning goals but he is not a proven experienced World class striker. Morata is but no Arsenal once again won't pay the money yet they are happy to spout the same old b0llocks at the end of every transfer window that the players weren't available. Funny how all the other teams find them available
Paul Merson said exactly the same thing on Sky Sports yesterday. In the mean time clubs are queuing up for Morata and Arsenal have missed the boat once again because they are too tight.

I don't blame him I would have stayed too! Serves the Arsenal board right for going for the cheap option and being turned down. Now we won't end up with anyone decent as the ones we could have gone for are in talks with other clubs now.
It will never change, everything is always on the cheap

so why go and sit on the bench for the perpetual failures with no ambition other than to finish in the top four when he is playing week in and week out for the champions?
They say they can't compete financially, it's utter boll0x and an insult to the fans when they have 2 of the richest owners in Kroenke and Usmanov not to mention being listed in the top 10 richest clubs. They treat the fans like idiots by even suggesting they can't afford to buy a top player.
If they don't get a quality striker in and at least one more highly experienced central defender we won't make top 4 this season that's for certain.
It seems the only way for Wenger to go will be for a disastrous season where they risk losing revenue through sponsorship and a slump in share prices due to them being less marketable. Then they will have to do something.
Unfortunately some supporters still think he's up to the job!
.
Ive wanted him out for the last 4yrs, but with the current board upstairs he won't go anywhere because he's making them money. It's not just a Wenger problem it's a club problem, from top to bottom.
