At the end of the day Giggs can only do so much, its the managers job, hes changed the style of play, if Giggs went against the manger he'd end up loosing his job. Can't see it harming if he took over till end of season.

he has been part of 2 failed managers tenures, I just don't see what he can bring to a team lacking in confidence, skill, ability and any other descriptive word you could throw in at the moment, if he could he should be doing it now

Yeah Lvg is shot but you've also got to look at the Chief Exec, Woodward knows that if Lvg goes as a failure it reflects on him very badly, so he is more than happy to talk him out of resigning in the hope he pulls it around saving both their jobs in the process.

EW is half the issue, his short comings in the transfer market are masked by the clubs success off the field and the huge sponsorship deals that have been signed off recently.

I said it all season Charlie Austin would have done a job for us, and he just rubbed our noses in it on Saturday, we could have got him for £10-11m in the summer and he goes to Soton for £4m. He would have done a job for any of the top 6 as a back up striker and cheap as chips.

If Lvg doesn't go within 48 hours be it resignation or otherwise then he will be there until the end of the season minimum, you've got two men trying to save their asses right now....

but would you not think an organisation like us (MU) would have had the foresight to have the next manager in place a year or so before SAF jacked in, most leading companies have a mentoring period in place when major changes are in the pipe line
So for me this was the start of the demise the last couple of years of the greatest era in our history SAF's reign (along with an ageing over achieving squad)
That's times long gone, we need to look to the future

It's clear to see United are more interested in brokering sponsorship deals on the global playing field rather than worry about what's happening on the pitch, what they need (Ed W) to understand is if the team isn't playing well, qualifying for the ECL, winning titles and pots then the sponsorship will dry up and they wont be able to command the premiums they currently enjoy.

I'll always give credit where it's due, that was more like a Manchester United performance. Good quality build up play, some good passing moves and some great goals plus a clean sheet.

As the saying goes "One swallow doesn't make a summer", they have to back up that type of performance with another of similar standard and then back it up over and over again as that's what champion sides do.

It was a good performance but it also was a poor side. And they just sat back and let United play. If they had have just gone for it, United may have been in trouble.

His style like LVG's style wouldn't suit United, i lost all respect for him after what happened with Eva Carneiro and his constant whining about refs and how almost everyone was against them.

I hope the Utd owners aren't thinking all about the 'jose / pep' so called feud and ill feeling to generate press and publicity instead of concentrating on matters on the pitch

We need to be getting the important things right at our great club, getting back to being a winning successful team with flair and imagination

 

He was made to manage Utd, he's a bad loser just like Fergie!.............That's not a bad thing because IMO, bad losers are born winners! The fact that he rebuffed any move to take back over at Real Madrid speaks volumes of how high he regards the Utd job and proves he's not just a Pep Guardiola who has so far made a managerial career of taking over ready made teams who are basically the best in their respected leagues.

Utd need a complete reform including all the coaching staff. Even being the Utd Legend he is, I'd send Giggs packing as well. Let him find his own way in the coaching game instead of trying to baby and nurture him into the next Utd manager. Let him make his mistakes and learn the trade at lower leagues then bring him back if he proves himself.

Utd could do a hell of a lot worse than hiring Mourinho to try and turn around their fortunes and could go through another 3 or 4 managers to even get to someone who is on his level, so appointing Mourinho is a very good move.

I'm not a Utd fan btw, or a Chelsea fan.

 

I've said the same with regards Giggs, he hasn't instilled any confidence as a coach in my eyes during the recent managerial woes at MU, he needs to train the kids, scout for the next Giggs, Rooney or King Cantona or leave United completely

I'm not a fan of JM, I'd rather go for Simeone or Ronald Koeman
Jose will at best would stay 2-3 years, with these other guys (all things going well) we could get some stability

We lost some shape when Lingaard went off and Depay just looked lost - very much like Di Maria. We had a fantastic break with players over and rather than a simple cut back he passes the ball down the line. Great opportunity to go 2 up was lost.

Annoyed we drew but much better performances and several decent chances.
